Good day, all! I have a planning/scheduling question for those of you who have been to the World more than I (precisely once, but ready to go back). Since January 1st, 2006 falls on Sunday, what is your opinion of the holiday crowd status for the week following the 1st? Are most people off that week, or do we stand a chance of having the holiday crowds taper off by the 3rd or 4th? We'd prefer to not run up against the holiday crowds, but with a school-age kid . . . the age-old dilemma!

Thanks in advance!

I'm looking at the calendar for Dec 2005 and Jan 2006. Christmas is on a Sunday this year, so the kids may have school up until that Friday (12/23). If that's the case, the kids get 2 weeks off so they won't have to be back to school until Jan 9th.

This past Christmas, most of the schools in our area went until Dec 17 and had to be back to school on Jan 3. But our school district had the kids go until Dec 22 and they didn't have to be back until Jan 10. That's when we were there last month, that first week of Jan. I would really wait to see what the school calendars are for next school year. They say the time when the kids are off for Christmas break is the busiest time of the year. You would hate to schedule it for that first week of Jan just to find out it was the busiest time!

BTW, last month was wonderful!!! No crowds, and the weather was great. :)

I'm in CA and our Christmas break is from Dec 22- Jan 8 this coming year. I have planned our trip for Dec 17-23 (she'll miss 2 1/2 days of school) hoping it won't be extremely busy while we are there. :earboy2:
