If you haven't tried it, consider scheduling your room cleaning time...:thumbsup2

We often visit the parks early, visit the resort and pool early afternoon and return to the parks later afternoon. It finally dawned on me to contact Mousekeeping and ask for the room to be cleaned in the morning (10am in our case) while staying at the Polynesian. This worked out great because we are never in the room at that time. Otherwise, we end up coming back to our room before it is cleaned and hoping it gets done while we are at the pool but the timing is not always good.

I didn't know this was possible! So many times we have come back for naps or tried to figure out when we could head back for rest and missed our mark! Thank you for sharing. :)

I had no idea you could "schedule" it. It would be great to know an approximate time they were arriving.

Thanks for the tip!!! :thumbsup2

My guess is this is not something that Disney advertises because they don't have a room scheduling/request system for mousekeeping. I am guessing it is one of those instances where you can call and request just about anything, and if Disney can accommodate you, they will.

Exactly. And if too many people make those requests the service will vanish.

Yep. Everybody knows Disney will bend over backwards for their guests, but the housekeepers have priorities too. My guess is their first priority is making up the rooms of guests who have checked out early, so they are ready for new guests checking in. If too many requests are made for morning room cleaning, they just won't be able to accommodate them.

We sometimes return from the park in the early afternoon to find the room hasn't been made up. If we want a nap we put the do not disturb sign on the door. When we wake up, we take the sign off the door. Presto.

Then again, we aren't very messy people. We'll survive if we don't get fresh towels or have the garbage can emptied for a day.

Don't always count on this to work. We call everytime we go and ask for early morning housekeeping. Sometimes the room gets done early and sometimes it doesn't. I thought if you put out the Do Not Disturb sign that mousekeeping would leave you a bag with fresh towels and soap. Does that not happen? Where is the fast pass machine for this? :confused3 Is it like at Fantasyland where the machine is no where near the ride?:lmao:

Agree with this. I would not rely on this working every single time. All that is needed is for your housekeeper to have an emergency to make up another room and yours doesn't get done in the time requested.

As with any request - it's just that - a request.

OP here. We joked each day about how mousekeeping was for sure going to show up at exactly at 10am knowing that their priorities can change or they could reach a bottleneck. I don't know when they showed up but every day after making the request our room was cleaned before we returned from visiting the parks so it worked for us.:cool1:

They were cleaning rooms from early morning to late afternoon so I figured why not do our room early; can't hurt to make the request. There are probably some days that have more folks checking out than other days and this could definitely have an impact.

I like the idea of FP+ for room cleaning.:rotfl:
