As I have a long disney cruise next year I have to book my own flights, now i usually BOOK Virgin , sometimes BA, but does anyone else have recommendations for flights? Based on comfort, service, cost, direct?

THANKS

I'm pretty sure that, with the possible exception of Continental (as a Virgin codeshare - that's to say, you book with Continental, but you'll be on a Virgin flight), Virgin and BA are the only airlines offering direct scheduled flights from the UK.

Interesting doesnt Uniter or Amierican ? etc?

I need to go to LA come back from Orlando

I amended my post to remove FlyGlobespan as I realised it's a charter airline.

I'd assumed you meant Orlando - some of the American carriers have direct routes between London and the US, but not Orlando.

Usually, if you fly to Orlando with one of the US airlines, you will go via a hub airport, such as Chicago or Atlanta. But if you are flying to LA first, you would be able to fly direct, then maybe via somewhere on the way home.

I like American and Delta, although I wouldn't say they were necessarily better than Virgin or BA, and on US airlines, the bar isn't complimentary, if this is a factor for you.

If it was me, I would shop around for prices, and make a decision from there.

Just as a thought, it would probably be easier to call someone like Airline Network first, and get some prices. It's easier than trying to get prices for this kind of journey online. Then at least you have an idea and can do some further research yourself.

Thanks for replies Virgin and BA are still top of the list but wanted to widen my choice as far as possible.

Do you have to fly scheduled?

Charter airlines do 3 week flight only's too. First choice I hear are good for legroom, comfort etc. They are direct flights also.
I think Thomsonfly are bringing out new planes along the same lines as First Choice.

Price up a LON-LAX, MCO-LON open jaw flights on Expedia etc...

One thing to be aware of for BOTH BA and VS - their flights to LA fly out of Heathrow, there Orlando flights fly into Gatwick. This may or may not be an issue for you (depending on how you get to the airport).

There are ways around it if it IS a problem:
- Park your car at Gatwick and get a coach transfer to Heathrow for your outbound flight.
- Do LHR-LAX, MIA-LHR (and drive from Orlando to Heathrow) or do LHR-LAX, MCO-MIA-LHR (you might get a reasonable through itinerary booked on BA with the domestic segment on AA).

Boo

Thanks will look into that

I have a feeling the closest charters get to LA is LV, and even if they did fly to LA I think it may not be non stop. If you want direct/non stop then it is just Virgin or BA.

Claire ;)

If you want a flight from LAX to MCO in the middle then you will have a problem using a direct carrier as the internal flight will have to be with a US carrier, you may well be able to book both BA and Virgin but the US internal flight will probably be with an alliance partner ie Continental or American
