Schaumburg Half Marathon - November 26, 2011

It looks like this race has existed since 2009. Has anyone participated in it? Is it a fun race? We will be in Chicago for Thanksgiving and I thought since we are going to be there anyway, why not run in a race?

That's their Turkey Trot race. I will be running the 5K race that day, not the Half -- I am saving my first Half for Disney World. If you are going to be at the race, we should try to meet up.

Absolutely! I will definitely keep you posted. Definitely not used to such affordable entry fees!

After reading your posts about this half I am thinking that I am going to do it. I ran the Wine and Dine half and figured I can use the excuse I ate to much on Thanksgiving so I have to run.

last year it was still in the 60's around thanksgiving so maybe this year it will be the same. I dont think it will be any worse than cross country skiing in January. However it has been predicted that winter this year will be worse in chicago than the east coast.

My hubby ran this last year. He enjoyed it, said it was a bit hillier than he expected, but he liked the course. If he wasn't doing the Chicago Marathon tomorrow he'd probably be training for this half again.
