Scavenger hunt clues -

We'll be telling our kids on Thanksgiving about our upcoming trip. I'll be doing a scavenger hunt with clues that will lead them to our living room, and we'll have a box with Disney gift cards for each, maybe balloons and other Disney related goodies.

I need some ideas for scavenger hunt clues- about 8-10, to take them around the house.

Tips and advice for making this fun appreciated!

There are 13 years difference from our youngest to oldest and to insure that the youngest didn't get left out we've done two things. 1) We tied them all together so they all traveled in the house together and 2) we've made clues unique to each kid so each had to answer (e.g., how many food stuffs is an apple? the one familiar with Minecraft could answer and so on). I've also thought of having them look through a couple decks of cards or all the cans in the pantry to find the next clue. Another thing might be to make a Mickey puzzle and have the clues lead to the pieces. At the end they put it together and figure it out.

We did a scavenger hunt 2 years ago at Christmas with all the kids, there were 9 in all. Here are the clues I came up with: (most are really easy as we had some young ones we wanted to feel included)

Red and shiny, delicious to eat. It made Snow White fall fast asleep._____(apple, so they ran to the apple drawer in the fridge)

Deep down under the sea so blue lived Ariel, Sebastian and Flounder too!! Come find your next clue where you splish splash while taking a bath. (Went to the bath tub)


Calling all cowboys, cowgirls and space rangers too!! Come find Woody in the playroom. (So they had to find the Woody doll in the playroom)

Before the ball Cinderella had so much to do, after the ball she lost her _____
(shoe) So they went to my closet.

Oh no it looks like Lighting is stuck, but here comes help-he's sure in luck. Nobody is greater then his friend Mater, the rusty but trusty tow______(truck) so they ran outside to the truck.

Woody, Buzz and Little Bo Peep want you to go find where the car goes beep beep. (They went to the garage door because they were already outside from previous clue. Then taped on outside of garage door was this next clue)

Mickey Mouse and Cinderella; Aladdin, Simba and Pooh, Lighting McQueen, stitch and Goofy; would like to invite you. To celebrate in a Magical Kingdom with all the Disney friends, you'll have a magical adventure before the vacation ends! (As they finished reading this we opened the garage door and we had a huge Mickey and Minnie balloon along with a banner that said "Surprise we are going to Disney World!!"

I have pictures but can't figure out how to post them. Hope some of these give you a few ideas.
