im a real whimp! last time i was brave enough to go on big thunder mountain, but thats about as scary as i can handle. i definatly cant cope with going upside down. so thats rock n roller out of the question!

what else goes upside down?

what else could i try? what about crush?

thanks sian x

lol you sound like my son, before he tries a ride he checks that it doesnt go upside down :goodvibes

Indiana Jones goes upside down so does Space Mountain.

Crush is good - what about Tower of Terror? no upside down just a big drop :rotfl2:

I hope you have a fab time, there is plenty to do without having to go on scary rides

that is exactly me! i need to know what im getting into. if i went on tower of terror id be worried id wet my self

it can't be that bad, can it?

Crush doesn't go upside down but it is in the dark and you spin round and round and don't really know where you are :woohoo:

A lot of people find it worse than Indiana Jones which is over before you realise it

Ha ha thought i was reading about myself :rotfl2:
My rule was if it goes upside down then it's a No no but that went out the window when I went to Thorpe Park here in England and I saw stealth, uh No Way would you get me on there :scared1:.

I love any ride a 1 year old can go on plus BTM, crush, TOT, parachute drop, POTC etc I think i may have liked RC until the CM working on the ride thought it was funny to keep releasing my restraints, because I'm one of those people that have to check them 100 times and they kept popping open so I freaked out the whole ride. It was not until I got off that he told me it was him doing it :sad2: needless to say that put me off that one.

I love roller coasters and will do anything, I think if you can psych yourself up to do TOT, as it's a bit of a tummy churner, it's totally worth it especially at night when the parks all lit up just for the view :goodvibes

I'm kind of the opposite, I don't mind going upside down, but it's the drops that I can't handle. So if you didn't like Big Thunder Mountain, you definitely won't like Crush's Coaster! Beware it's kid-friendly exterior and pre-ride entertainment. When the lights go out, you're in a world of tummy-churning.

Btw, obviously Rock 'n' Roller Coaster goes upside down (a lot, from what I hear) but could anyone tell me what it's like for drops? Big? Small? On the same scale as BTM or Crush?

I managed to get DW on to the Tower of Terror once by telling her it was all a trick and you do not fall. It was all done with fans blowing wind in your face.

Well I got a lovely photo of her screaming in the lift but I had to make it up to her with a romantic meal for two at the California Grill that night and a Character meal at Cafe Mickey the next day.

Still don't think I will ever be forgiven!

Jonjo - that's very funny, sadly all my lies didn't work with my ex-dh in February, I was just left begging a 37yo to come on with me whilst all the 8 year olds walked past him!

Crush's Coaster I would probably avoid, my mum was nearly in tears and demanding that I tell them to stop the ride lol

I had/am having a similar experience with DW and Tower of Terror. We went a couple of years ago with my sisters and she didn't go on as she was looking after DS.

After seeing my sisters faces in the photograph (which is priceless) she refused to go on. I didn't find it too bad - perhaps a bit boring even (I thought the same about Oblivion at Alton Towers) but the CMs before you get on are great.

We went a year later and she wouldn't go near it lol. We're going again at Xmas so it'll be attempt number three...

As for alternatives to scary rides use the time you would have been queueing to see some of the shows and other things on around the place. There are of course the more sedate rides such as Pirates...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh thats my idea of hell!! I would be a crying, miserable, nervous wreck. I could just imagine what panic attacks that would create! Kinda freaked now Kaz :scared1:

It really was scary I was thinking the whole way through the ride OMG i'm going to fall out. The CM thought he was funny. It probably was to others :lmao:.
I had to go and sit and watch Playhouse Disney, something nice and gentle to calm my nerves after, shame it was too early for a strong drink :rotfl:

I think the trick would have been not to show my fear :scared1: My family have always laughed at me on the amount of times I have to shake my restraints to make sure i'm in. I even do this on Peter Pan :rotfl2:

i am so glad im not alone.

there are 3 reasons i need to get a grip.

1 is to challenge myself

2 is because my parents are coming this time so i want my dad to have fun and he wont want to do them on his own

3 lastly i want my kids to grow up braver than me, so need to drag them on some :goodvibes

iv been looking at videos online. the official one for crush makes it look so tame, im so glad i know the truth. i can be prepared!
