Okaaaay.
So, I went to my friends house tonight. Let's call her E. So, our other friend C comes over too. We were just hanging out, whatever. Then, they decide they wanna watch a scary movie. The thing is, I HATE scary movies. Like, I get terrified. I just can't watch them. So, I told them that. They were like, Ah, suck it up. Don't be a baby. So, we sat down ready to watch 'The Strangers'. I was very upset that I had to watch it, but I didn't wanna go in the other room by myself.
So, I'm sitting there, and it starts. I'm already creeped out, cause it's based on true events.
And my uncle, who can watch anything was like, "It's SCARY!" And he got very creeped out.
So, I didn't wanna watch it.
It started and it wasn't scary, just...creepy. But, it was only like, 2 minutes in. And my friend E, who had seen it, kept saying how scary it was and stuff.
So, I was like, this is ridicuolous. And I called my mom.
And got picked up.
C, whose supposed to be like, my best friend, was laughing and joking around after I called home telling me that I was such a baby and stuff.
I felt really bad about leaving, cause I didn't want to, but I really couldn't watch that movie.

Uuuugh.

Sorry for the vent.

its so funny when u hear people say thats that movie is so scarry that they had to turn it off. that movie is so boring i was laughing like the entire time because they were being stupid. in the movie like when the girk didnt put on shoes when she ran and when the dude got shot in the face cause he wasnt saying anything when he was walking around and stuff.

I never saw it, but scary movies don't really phase me so I don't waste my money on them. :confused3

Thats a really bad friend to do that to you though. I know a few people who cannot handle scary movies and I would never force them to watch it at all. I would offer to watch a comedy instead, because who doesn't like funny movies[as long as they really are funny :lmao:] I would try talking to her and explaining that you just don't care for scary movies and that you would appreciate her to respect that and not make fun of or bully you into watching them. If she really is your best friend she will respect this and hopefully not do it again.

I saw it. I thought it was creepy how it took place at 4 AM and people were wearing masks and crept in. That wasnt nice of your friends though.

BTW, The Strangers was based off of a situation the director went through when he was a little kid when someone was talking to him at his door, or something like that. It's also based off of the Manson Murders. Just had to say that.

 though, sometimes friends can be insensitive.

Oh, so like, the whole thing wasn't completely true?

And thanks so much.

Nah.
It was based off of something that happened to the director when he was little and the Manson Murders.

The Manson Murders probably did stuff similar to what happened in the movie though. They would torture people like the way they did in the movie, and then do stuff to them or in front of them, and then kill them. Ugh. Sick.

in the movie at the begining there is a police recording of a call of the people reporting whats going on and there are 2 boys and the get the event based on what info came from the call and what info came from the 2 boys. so its based on true events but alot of it is like infering what they did.

Yeah, I saw the beginning.
I heard the police call, but it sounded like a woman to me.
I saw the house afterwards, cause that's in the beginning too, and I saw them stop at a red light.
Yes, it wasn't scary yet, but I didn't wanna wait around until it got scary.

I know how you feel. I also can't watch scary movies. My friends were having a Saw marathon tonight, but I didn't go because I hate scary movies. The last time I was with them, one of my friends was making fun of another friend of mine because we were watching Sweeney Todd and someone's sister had just called to say that someone had been kidnapped at the haunted house down the road and she was really freaked out. And then one guy started making fun of her and calling her a baby. That wasn't very nice of them to do that to you. My friends (besides that one above) understand that I won't watch scary movies and don't watch them when I'm around. I think it was the right decision to leave.

Aw, that's terrible!

And thanks so much!

You know, I hate scary movies. Your not a baby for not liking them. Some of us are more sensitive than others. I didn't sleep for 3 days after seeing the Descent. I was so creeped out!!!

Thanks!

When A Stranger Calls gave me nightmares. :scared1:

I have issues with scary movies. I get too wrapped up in stories (books, tv, movies, etc). Like, I will get extremely emotional when anything bad happens to someone, but I also get extremely scared when watching a movie/tv show/reading a book. I watched Scream when I was 8 when it came out, and I was so paranoid about being killed in my house my mom had to install a security system. I would be extremely upset if my friends were like that about it.

There's scarier movies than The Strangers.
But if you didn't want to watch it, you shouldn't have.
And your friends should respect that.

Oh, I know there are.
I don't like any scary movies, not just this one.

But, thanks, I agree. They defintieyl shouldn't have been stupid about it.

Yea, next time just tell them that you can either watch a different movie, or not watch one at all and leave.

I watched The Strangers not too long ago, and oh man was I freaking out!
I literally hid underneath a blanket the whole entire time. lol

You're friends should have respected the fact that you don't like scary movies. I would be very upset.

omg i had an experience like exactly like that today and i left early too.

me and a bunch of my friends went to my other friend taylor's house to watch movies. i knew that she wanted to watch a scary movies but i didn't think we actually would cause she hates scary movies.

but my friend manda LOVES scary movies so she was like let's watch "the exorsism of emily rose" and i didn't really know what it was about so i was like "uh...sure"

so we're watching it and i'm kind of ok then about halfway through it it started getting really creepy and i was getting a little jittery and nervous so i went over to sit on the floor with a couple of other people, then my friend brandon comes up behind me and grabs my waist and yelled. I FLIPPED OUT!!!! :scared1: i was so pissed at him and freaked out that i started crying hysterically and shaking and getting really scared. as brandon and his girlfriend briana are laughing at me... :sad1:

he ended up apologizing cause he didn't know how much i hated scary movies and that i was crying but i was soooooooooooooooooooo freaked out. and mad cause my boyfriend wasn't there *not mad at him just mad in general*

it was deffinially an interesting day... we were going to watch another scary movie after that but the first one was enough for me, so i called my mom and made her take me home.

Oh, I'm so sorry!
I hate when people do things like that.
