Scary moment today!!

After school today, I had a club meeting. And about halfway through the meeting, our superintendent comes over the PA system and says, "Attention everyone. It is imperative that everyone evacuates the building immediately. I repeat..." So everyone runs around and grabs their stuff and exits the building. Teachers are ushering everyone across the streets. Nobody has any idea what's going on. So finally I hear someone saying that somebody called in a bomb threat from the Wawa (a convience store). My town is itty bitty, and nothing like this has ever happened in my 6 years of going to that school (grade 7-12).

There were a lot of students in there for sports, clubs, play, etc. and most of the staff was still there too. Thankfully it wasn't during school, because that could have been mayhem. It's been a while now, and I haven't heard any loud explosions. I live a couple blocks from the school too. But it was still scary!

Has anything like this happened to you?

Other schools in the area have, actually, several times.
We did have a bomb drill at the beginning of the year.
I wouldn't mind doing another drill sometime soon, but because the bomb drill takes a bit longer than the fire one.

I was walking across the street to school, and it sounded like a bomb went off, and Two cars crashed and were coming towards me, and the crossing guard ran and pushed me out of the way.

I love those drills. It takes up atleast 2 periods, for us at least.

We hade rumors that someone would do that, like two years ago when it was 06/06/06. But nothing happened.

Nope. It was just really loud, and all the kids walking to school ran back to help.

We had mulitple bombs threats through out our district. (Probably some kids that just wanted to get out of class.) Now they have a lot more teachers posted around the school when they aren't teaching and we haven't had any more bomb threats.

I don't think we had a bomb threat, but I remember in like 3rd grade, this 5th grader threatened to bring a gun to school and kill everyone. I was sooo scared, and refused to go to school for a week.

I've been through bomb threats, shooting threats, fire drills, tornado drills, evacuations that include leaving grounds (and walking half a mile away from school) gas leaks, and god knows what else.

My town is itty bitty too. people here are just nuts.

I think my home high school holds a record somewhere for the most bomb threats in a short period of time.

In November(?), we had a bomb threat during lunch. I'm pretty sure somebody found something written on the bathroom wall. Half the kids ate at 2:30 instead of 12:30. That sucked. We walked across the street to a church and crammed 1800 kids + staff in there.

In December(?), we had another "bomb threat" right before 7th hour which is the last hour of the day. Apparently the county sheriff's dept. received a threat and thought it was related to the highschool so we were evacuated. As soon as the whole school was in the church, they were like ok! You can leave. So basically alls we did was miss 7th hour. @_@

And then of course the few fire drills we've had. =]

My town is small. My school isn't over 1000 kids with faculty included. This school year alone, we've had 4 bomb threats, 3 evacuations due to actual fires, 27 medical emergencies, 2 gun threats, and 8 lockdowns with 1 drug search.

Stuff like that has pretty much become and everyday thing to us.

MY school had our first bomb threat in November when this kid asked his mom to bring in his science project but not to drop it so when she told the prinicpal he called the cops. The wierd thing was they told us it was a drill but when we cops show up at the exits we kinda thought something was wrong. When we were let out since theres only four hundred people a rumor was going around that we were in the drill because some kids finger got cut off which was not true. Eventually they told us and the kid went to juvie but was let out.

I'm from a very small town as well.
But the only time we had to evacuate was a gas leak.
Nothing that serious.

No bomb threats at my school, just the Great Parking Lot Fire of 05' where a generator blew up in our parking lot and streaks of flames shooting all around the parking lot. Nobody was hurt but 3 cars melted to the ground and weren't removed for 2 months

The school across town from us has had at least 3 evacuations and closers due to Gang threats though

Last year there was this guy walking around who just shot someone at 7-11 and robbed it. The police didn't catch him until like 45 minutes so all during math class we slept and kept the lights off. The doors on the school were locked too.
