So I was sitting here, in one of those desperately-in-need-of-sleep stupors and reading the thread on Signs, when it suddenly occured to me...

M. Night Shyamalan's stuff is so deeply layered, and so almost misleading because it SEEMS to simple on the surface, and the before you know it you say WHOA! And suddenly you realize that all the stuff at the beginning and along the way that you thought was nothing is actually integral to the story.

And then I thought hmm, what writer does that remind me of? JK Rowling of course!

Which led to my late-night scary thought:

What would the Harry Potter movies be like if M. Night Shyamalan had directed them?

Sounds like a good combo to me. M. Night is awesome in my book. Can't wait for The Village on Friday.

Great thought. That would totally put a different spin on the series altogether.

I was watching another movie recently (name escapes me at this moment) and during the credits M Night's name came up in the screenplay/script portion. I remember when I thought back on the movie how similar it was to his other work.

Darn! I wish I could remember the name of the movie now!
