Oh my,you will not believe the conversations/threads about the original banner on the US forums-all h*ll let loose over there.I am glad it has gone,as i believe these forums are intended for families, and i have stopped dd7 from nosing over my shoulder at times whilst i have been on the dis since these have been up.They were changed late last night as there was so many complaints+hoo-ha over them. They did'nt bother me-although i don't watch them types of films, but was worried that dd7 would see them.x.
yep i agree, my dd aged 17 looks in now and again and she hated the banner.
Feline figaro,
yes it is a family orientated forum, thats the point. also how could the banners be watered down? I for one wouldnt have a clue how to have done that.- the banner didnt bother me but obviously upset a majority of people on the dis forums. and when you see threads being locked or removed over silly little things it makes you wonder why the banner advertisement was still there, just shows that the dis police get their priorities somewhat wrong...
That occured to me aswell because I remember last year they were advertising HHN on billboards during our visit (just before the nights began) I didn't actually watch any '18' horror films when I was a kid (I probably did before 18 though not before my teens) but I did see the covers of videos when I used to go with my mum to the video shop to rent other films from when I was about 4 so i've been well aware of what horror characters look like for years.Sure people dont like horror images but the banner is showing the same pics that are being posted on massive bill boards all over Orlando.
That's just the point...not everyone knows HHN is for children. If that were the case, I wouldn't see young children at HHN year after year. Whether the parents who insist on bring their children to HHN are from the DIS...I can not tell you. I certainly hope the vast majority of people on the DIS knows about HHN being an event where children are not encouraged to attend. I think the banner was great and as an Orlando resident, I see the billboards all over town. HUGE billboards advertising HHN is a part of life and I certainly don't believe people will avoid Orlando during the month of October just because of a billboard scaring their children. The bottom line for me is this...the banner served as an advertisement yes, but it also served to let people know what type of event HHN really is. I hope I don't see small children at HHN this year but I can practically guarantee I will.We all know that HHN is NOT for children(unlike MNSSHP)but this is'nt/was'nt the point that i believe alot of people on the US boards were trying to get across.

IMHO, I would like to see US implement an age limit on the event. Especially with the content of the event, plus alcohol flowing as freely as it does - it's really not the event for anyone under the age of 18.
Bonny
Now that I would like to see!HHN is'nt my cup of t,but that's because i am a big scaredy cat+would probably wet myself if someone with a chainsaw jumped out at me.I hope you have a great time+can't wait for people on the UNI boards to post there pics so i can look at them
.x.
I too think the banner was excellent - and as I said previously, there are far worse things that we see everyday life.
