Scared that Disney is going to buy up my points!!!

Well I am new here. We stayed at BCV July 19th for a week and fell in love. Went on the tour, liked everything about it. But decided to try resale. I have a contract for BWV ,160 points with 160 banked for $10900. It comes out to a little over $68 per point. Anyone think I have a snowballs chance on a hot Florida Day?? Use year is Oct. I hate the wait. Sometimes I wish I just bought from Disney......

Who's paying dues and closing costs?

I am paying the 2003 dues, and the closing cost are added into the total cost. The agent said he would submit it that way so it looks like the point price is higher....

Today, Disney bought the contract that we were hoping for , and DH and I decided we couldn't go through that again, and so we are buying BWV from Disney! We called this evening to get the ball rolling.

You asked what I thought of your chances, and I'm going to say yes, since you are a bit over what we were going to pay per point.

Disney review will see that closing costs issue, so the rational that it makes the point price higher will likely not work. In essence, if you break it down, you're paying less than $66/pt and your paying closing costs (about $2.80/pt for your sized contract). I'd keep an eye on the resale boards for your next contract.

Disney must have a lot of people on waitlists for sold out resorts, or they want to drag out the resale process to encourage buyers into an "easy" Disney purchase. From some of the recent posts, purchasers have opted to go through Disney after a failed resale attempt.

Sounds like a great contract in todays market. A great price with banked points........................sounds almost too good to be true. You know what they say about things that sound too good to be true . I really hope it goes through for you!

I hope it goes through for you, but 68 a point, especially with all the points banked is low by today's "floor" of about 70-71. I think Disney looks at all those avaiable points and licks their chops at this price. Good Luck and please let us know the result!
