Scarce availbity fo VB OVIR's

I just checked availability for my DB as he hasn't closed on his contract yet. There are no OVIR's for all of June and 3 wks. of July. Only last week of July was left, and only a couple of days for 1st. week of Aug. I must say I am shocked, we are just into the 7 mos. time frame. I guess the secret is out!!

OVIR = Ocean View Inn Room. These rooms are basically studios in the main building (the Inn). They are bliss.

WOW.... We got an OVIR and a 2bdrm for the last week of June (at 7 mos.). Seems like each year is getting harder to book. Guess a VB purchase is not too far off.

Use the waitlist. Book a Garden View to have something there. An OVIR opened up for us 3 nights before we left in June, 07. This was for a 3 night weekday visit, beginning around the middle of June.

We were there for a few days at the end of July last summer and I called about 4 months out to try and change our OVIR to a 1 bed. MS told me that the resort was fully booked out. I called a few times after that and was given the same info.

We've already got 2 OVIR's booked for early August this year

we only bought at SSR last year and were hoping to goto VB for 5 days in September. I have been advised to call 26/2/08 to book - what are my chances of getting a booking - need studio/inn room? Can you also advise what is better and what the actual dfference is?? Thanks 1st posting just getting used to how this forum works!

That would be your 7 month mark to start your ressie. I think Sept. is kinda off season...but I really don't know. It can't hurt doing your ressie day by day if you have the time. Pts. wise, OVIR rooms are the same as studios, but you get a direct ocean view. Studios have a pull out couch, not really good views. Good luck!!

We own at OKW and, looking for something we hadn't done before, we made a spur-of-the-moment decision to try Vero in early June for DW's birthday (without the kids). I called on January 25 and we got the last OVIR available for June 5-8. The CM I was dealing with was very surprised there was availability at only 4.5 months out. So I guess it can happen but it sounds as if we were lucky on this occasion.

I tried to get a 1 bedroom in May 4-8 none left. Then I asked about August 17-22 and could only get a 1 bedroom for two nights Aug 20-21 the other nights we will be at okw. So Vero is popular I guess. I called last week because we just closed on our timeshare so maybe I would have had better luck if I was just 7 months out but I was not that far past the seven months when I called. And in May I will be at Saratoga that is all they had left in May for 1 bedrooms.
