I was scanning some old slides on my Epson printer/scanner and into my iMac.
Things were going well as I scan 4 at a time in the supplied frame. Then, for some reason one of the 4 scanned as a color negative. Then a couple more did and now they all do. I did not change the settings at all. Anyone have any idea why it would do this. I contacted Espon and they sent some directions to something that seemed like they didn't quite read what my problem was and it did not help.

Long shot: Do some of the slides mounts have rounded corners? The scanning system might be using stray light going through holes in the frame to internally select negative versus positive scanning.

Also is the frame positioned properly and not upside down?

Try turning off the scanner, waiting six seconds, then turning it back on again. Also reboot the computer.

Email Epson again with the problem, stating that their fist answer does not address the topic at hand but not spending many words on that explanation.

Thanks much. I will have to check the slide mounts and make sure they are positioned properly and then talk to Epson if that doesn't work.
