Off to buy a scanner today - I know I could get one cheaper over the internet but I NEED to buy it today.

Please can someone advise on a good scanner. What should I be looking for?

I have an Epson and I'm really pleased with it.

The model I have is an Epson Perfection 1240U, but I think this model has been replaced now.

Take a look at the following:

Epson Perfection 1260 (£79)

Epson Perfection 1660 (£119)

Epson Perfection 2400 (£189)

Canon Canoscan 8000F (£189)

Canon Canoscan 9900F (£289.9)

Epson Perfection 3200 (£350)

Some of them come with 'photo' options to allow you to scan negatives and slides.

Have you got a branch of Jessops near you?
They usually have a good range in stock.

Hey Tim

We went to Jessops - we have a new one near us.

I ended up wanting the Canon - CanoScan 3000F but they didn't have one in stock so went over to PC World and was able to get it for the same price give or take a pound or two.

Now I have to install it and use it - believe it or not I've never used one before.......... should be fun
