I bought two cut green wreaths today at the supermarket to bring to my parents/grandparents cemetery. In early December these wreaths were like $19.99 and $15.99.

The sign earlier this week and today said $12.99 and $9.99 so I bought one of each.

They scanned at $7.99 and $4.99.

Should I complain at Customer Service about the incorrect price signs and demand they give them to me for free? ;)

I bought a cake yesterday at Kroger to take to a party tonight - it was tagged $9.99, but rang up $7.99. I didn't even think of demanding to get it free!! I should brave the Saturday before Christmas crowds to go back to Kroger and file a complaint with the manager :-)

Mistress Scarlet would. .

Man, it's been about 30 years since stores here stopped giving you an item for free if it scanned wrong. You get the lower price and that's it.
That can work to your advantage. My mom noticed when she bought a can of macadamia nuts at CVS years ago that they rang up for $4 a can below the price on the shelf. She was running errands and stopped at another CVS. Same thing happened. Stopped at a third CVS, same thing. Everyone got macadamia nuts in their Christmas stocking that year.

I thought the intent of that policy was to prevent OVERPAYING compared to the listed price. If they are running a sale, perhaps they didn't have time to post those prices or the temporary label fell off. Would you insist on paying the HIGHER price if something rang up a sale price you didn't realize was in effect?

The audacity!!! and during the holidays, no less! LOL

GOOD ONE, I thought we were going full blown karen and I had my own story to share. Another thread, maybe, LOL

Where did you buy it? Some stores new prices begin on a Friday, Some on a Saturday and some on a Sunday.

Shoprite is on a Sunday. Stop and Shop is on a Friday (or Saturday/can't remember). I don't shop in Stop and Shop much and more than once, I was shopping and the sale was over.

Good luck!

I believe the OP was making a joke.

Our new prices start on Wednesday here. So weird that chains start the new prices on different days throughout the country.

I was in the grocery store the other day picking up a few things. Half a rib roast was in my cart among other things. I went through the self checkout. During the scanning the register beeped at me a couple times. The clerk came over to clear my beeps but he never looked to see what the beeps were for. I wasn't paying any attention either. When I got home, I looked at the receipt and thought it was a bit light. Come to find out my rib roast never scanned. It all evens out over your lifetime.

Not here. About two years ago at my Safeway a bottle of extra virgin olive oil scanned at a higher price than the sale shelf tag. I went to customer service to get the price adjustment and they gave me the $9.99 sale bottle for free.

Last week we noticed that a small pre-sliced ham in the meat department was mislabeled with a lower “turkey ham” price label. About $2 less per pound. I was tempted to buy it and freeze it for later but we had already purchased our Christmas ham.

I bought the wreaths at Giant supermarket on Saturday. Their sales start on a Friday. Shop Rite catty-corner at the intersection starts their sales on Sundays.

Yes, I realize that someone just didn’t get around to placing the new lower price signs on the wreaths outside the front door. It was a pleasant surprise when they scanned at a lower price than I was willing to pay.
