Scammed :(

OMG!! i was just scammed out of a lot of stuff. a green cactus, blue lightcycle, red scoreboard, well chair, and pirate q ship back to be exact.
i was trading him for credits and he opened the quest for me and then booted me! i feel like such a fool i should have known better, but i keep forgetting that people in regular VMK aren't as nice as Disboards people i can't believe i've just lost all that stuff. is there any way to get the things back? arg! i feel so angry! at myself and at the cruddy people who think it's ok to scam other people! all these items that people work so hard to get, other people think they can just take them from them. and of course vmk won't do anything about it, because it was my own fault. i DO know that, but when they say that they won't help because i'm the one who agreed to do the trade, i feel like i'm being punished for being a trusting, non-scamming person. and this is supposed to be a game geared for kids! what will they learn from situations like this? who else has had this happen to them?

I know it stinks you were cheated out of your things, but trading for credits from someone you don't know well in the game is THE RISKIEST trade there is. You can and should report this scam to vmk via the contact us button, but you may never see your things again. I would report them, regardless of getting my items back, just to hope this person is banned. I'm sure if he got your things, he's doing this to other players as well. VMK has always asked people NOT to trade credits, although many of us do, including myself.
Sorry this happened to you. Maybe your report can stop him from doing this to another player.

You will find that the best thing is to never fully trust anyone in the game. While I don't think adults will be huge scammers, I'm sure there are a few out there. I think most scamming is done by kids who don't have any personal integrity.

Credit trades are the riskiest thing to do. It used to be common for a trusted person (often a Community Leader) to hold the rare item for trade while the other person traded credits. Once the credits were transferred, the third party would trade over the rare item.

Unfortunely, there isn't any way to have a third party both sides can trust, so you'll probably see more scams. It's gotten to the point that another VMK forum refuses to allow trade threads with credits as an offer.

i did report, but vmk just sent me a message basically saying that it was my fault and there' nothing they'll do about it i just went back into his room and asked for my things back or at least the credits he promised me. he fed me this story about how he couldn't give it back because he just got scammed out of everything himself. i told him that was very convenient for him and i hope he enjoyed my stuff. then left the room. i hope nobody else trades with him

sorry that happened to you........i know how risky it is and would only do a credits trade with a DIS member, although I've had a little trouble with that lately myself..

The only thing I have from your list is a well chair, that I wouldnt mind giving you. If I had any of the others I would do all could to help you out. I can be on later tonight and would love to gift one to you if you still need one. Let me know.

Sorry, this happened to you, it's my guess that it would be simple to add this feature. Many other kids games - some simpler then vmk have a way to trade with credits. Unfortunately, I think the issue is they did not really want people trading with credit. I guess they know there will always be credit brokers, and by not allowing credit trades it allows them to give us more free items without the worry people will just be credit factories. I think they should revisit the issue, they already make much of the free stuff basicly worthless to resell.

it makes me feel so much better when i see that the Dis is full of nice people who are willing to do things like this. i know when i was trying to get dream ears for my mom the Dis helped me out! everyone in vmk wanted way too much stuff for the ears, and there were quite a few people on here who didn't hesitate to gift their extra pair for my mother. (i only took one though but i just wanted to thank you all and let you know that i think you are all really great people. and i hope you all never get scammed.

Sorry, this happened to you, it's my guess that it would be simple to add this feature. Many other kids games - some simpler then vmk have a way to trade with credits. Unfortunately, I think the issue is they did not really want people trading with credit. I guess they know there will always be credit brokers, and by not allowing credit trades it allows them to give us more free items without the worry people will just be credit factories. I think they should revisit the issue, they already make much of the free stuff basicly worthless to resell.

i agree, and the games don't really give out enough credits for the items they release every weekend. especially now with the magic! i haven't been able to buy any yet because i'm still trying to get enough credits, (hence i was trading those items for credits today lol) i agree that perhaps vmk should rethink the issue of credits.

i'm sorry i missed you both thank you all so much for your kindness in helping me replace my lost items, it really lifts my spirits to know that the Dis family is so generous i am in no way asking for replacements for my lost items, it WAS my own fault and i should have known better, but it is GREATLY appreciated

i agree, they should at least do something when people scam others. it doesn't teach good values to children. it's just like in real life. we wouldn't want the children to start thinking that stealing is ok as long as you get away with it

Aww i am so sorry that happened too you. That is really sad, i know how it is too have that happen, ppl in vmk are just so dishonest . I've learned my lesson about trading in vmk, i usually only trade with disboarders.

Sorry you got scammed, unfortunately it isnt only just kids that do this, I had a friend on my friend list and who is a dis person, who did not give me codes, that were suppose to go to me. Maybe thats not a scam, just greedy, not trustworthy and not a friend.

I am not sure what items your missing, But I would be happy to give you something to make this easier for you.I will P.M. you. cheer up, only a few bad apples out there!

I am sorry it happened to you, I got scammed once I felt so angry at myself for being that stupid, it was not someone from the dis either. Since that time, I am now not always up about trading, like there was someone in my room before willing to give me credits for one of my items, I did not accept because I did not know that person.
