How sad that we cant trust ppl Mal, Im sorry that happened to you. But like sweet said greed has gotten the best of ppl on vmk. A similiar thing happened to a friend of ours. "Let me borrow this for a pic" type thing. Reporting did no good.

I hope they find who did it Mal and give them what they deserve, true inferno.

Mal, I'm so sorry to read this. There are some cold, heartless, lying players in this game, and it makes me so sad to see something full of Disney magic turned to junk thanks to cheaters. VMK really does need to get on the ball in terms of banning and punishing people who break the rules. Sometimes I wonder what the point of the game is if everyone is just allowed to run wild with no consequences doled out to so many of the troublemakers.

I just saw Gothicmal in the Pirates lobby (we played a game together as well). I said hello after a game, but I don't know if you saw me or not. Whoever it is had to be paying attention to the DIS because as much as I'm here, I didn't know you had a character by that name until I read this thread.

VMK can't be expected to resolve these issues because then they'd have to monitor each and every trade to see what was a loan and what was a trade. They already have enough on their plate.

And yes I know this was my fault and I know VMK has a lot on their plates and I do not expect them to monitor every trade, I do hope though when someone sends them a report with proof of a scam that they take action and ban the player, all their ids and their computer. I actually do not think that is a lot to ask.

Mal knows better. If it was simply a matter of a stranger doing this, she
wouldn't have been taken. What makes this particularly vile is that the
scammer has taken being a con artist to a new level.

Really good cons succeed because they do something to gain your trust...
or CONfidence. Then they pull the rug from under you when you're not
looking. That's how it is in real life, but now that's how it's being done in
VMK.

I'd be very surprised if this is a kid doing this. It seems way too sophisticated
a scam. I'd say either someone in their teens or older. And that's what
makes this particularly disgusting to me.

You know, it seems that trade scams are on the rise, sadly. I had never had any problems before, and everyone's always been honest. That was until three days ago. Someone came into a trade room and announced that he was trading a Sparrow shirt. Since that item is my heart's desire in vmk, of course I asked him if I could offer on it. I showed him several things, plus asked him to come to my trade room to see the rest. He said sure and followed me. All very nice. He told me he was going to accept my offer, but that I needed to trade him all the stuff now, at which point he would go and get the Sparrow shirt off of his OTHER character.

I replied "how dumbo do I look to you?"

At which point he went on a big rant about how mean I was, how I had lost my chance at Sparrow, how he would see that I never get the shirt (lol - not sure how he hopes to accomplish THAT ) -he was really very nasty about it.

I didn't lose anything, thankfully, but I did learn a sad lesson that day.

Also had an incident tonight where someone claimed to be wanting a game of friendly pirates when he was actually looking for an easy win for himself. I just can't believe people sometimes.
