Last month both my daughter and I were approached, me twice in a matter of ten minutes by the same "guest". I was on a mule wearing a 4th hat I think, she might have had pirate quest or crown on. We weren't together, but it was the same guest opening the trade windows. I don'tknow if she didn't realize I was the same person in the Emporium as I was in the pirate treehouse that she tried to sucker me twice, but I had a plain 'flat' T-shirt on, so I looked younger as does dd.
The one time I let the conversation go on more, she wanted to trade my hat for her crown. (Maybe) She said she was wearing crown, give her hat and she could take off crown to give me. (Do you have any other rare instead?) Says she has Gold Ears, but is wearing them and will have to take them off. I said can't be wearing both crown and gold ears.
No, she is wearing the ears. I said I don't see anyone in room with ears on. she said someone was standing in front of her. My opinion was that the ears would stand above anyone's head that didn't have a hat on, and I could see her before anyway - nothing on. I wrote down her guest number while i had her talking and told her I report her.
Got my blurb back saying there are windows popping up saying that the other party has not offered anything in trade are you sure you want to continue. THAT'S NOT THE POINT OF THE COMPLAINT/WARNING! She was stalking what seemed to her to be children, more trusting, less world-wise, probably had to start a new character because of being banned for cheating ppl on her other one. I sent another letter, but I'd lost the guest's number by then, through the regular black hole method w/out the limited dictionary, complaining that they didn't take my complaint seriously for the way it read during the contact us session to take care of the guest immediately but they could go back to my estimated date and trade conversations
I don't allow my girls to trade, EVER, without calling me into the room. Mostly they don't have anything they CAN trade, and don't know about collecting, only know what they like. Even coolio (ds) usually asks if I think something is a good trade before going through with something. Of course he usually gets the great ones while I sit holding all the Flag hats. someday people will want them, someday.

I realized she was trying to scam me, I told her i wasn't dumbo and reported her. i clicked report right at the second she got scared and left. 
I don't allow my daughter to trade either and I don't let her have friends on vmk. Anytime she is "talking" to someone on vmk, I make sure I'm in the room also. cteddiesgirl was sweet enough to give my daughter an item she was really wanting the other day as a reward and I made sure to tell her to never trade it to anyone else. She would be heartbroken if someone scammer her for the item. Thanks for all the hints on spotting a scammer.
Never trust noobs that own a sparrow hat.
