That's where I got my SCAL 18 months ago. I love this site and their free daily SVG files to cut great designs. The fine print says you get free shipping and a $10 gift card, too - but only on BF. Wow! Happy to enable anyone who has been wanting this - it is a great price! :rolleyes1

No way! :worship::worship::worship::worship:

It's on my Christmas list and I told DH it was $79.99. I have to be in line at Kohls by 2AM on BF. My sister wants something for her boyfriend but as soon as we get done with all our other shopping I am getting online! I was going to take a very long nap but I don't want to miss out on the deal!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETA: When I click on the link at svgcuts it kicks me over to
http://pumpkincartcrafts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=36

Is that a reputable site?

Actually, I buy files from svgcuts, but now that I remember, I didn't get my SCAL from them. I don't remember seeing the pumpkincart thing coming up for me before, but I haven't bought files in a while. (And they have so many new ones...try to resist, try to resist!:rotfl2:)

My guess is that they joined forces with them to supply the discounted SCALs? Anyone?

Ok so please explain this to me....
Free shipping on the cd? To install in the computer?
I really want this but I was waiting until I get my laptop.

I went to this website and didn't see anything there about purchasing SCAL. Should there be a link or something?

On that site, click on the "blog" tab and then on one of the SCAL or Black Friday boxes on the top right. It will take you to the BF deal. (I'm on their emailing list, so mine must have come up to the right spot automatically...)

Hope this helps! I love SCAL and it is saving me a fortune in not buying Cricut (font) carts - I can focus on the design ones!

Pumpkin Cart Crafts is their other site. They ROCK out loud! Mary and Leo are the best. Great freebies!

The site actually says "SAVE $35 on SCAL2" so that would make it about $40, not $35. Didn't want people to freak out if they budgeted wrong!:)

Thank you, I have been wanting this but could not justify the price, now I can.!!!!!!!!!:yay::yay:

I put SCAL 2 in my shopping cart just to get an idea of shipping and at the lower end was $2.40 and the high end was $13+. The choice made in shipping - first class, priority, overnight, etc - is what dictated the price.

As I understand it, you install SCAL in your computer, connect the Cricut to your computer and then you can cut with your Cricut - you need to have a cartridge in it but any cartridge will do - any True Type Font you have saved on your computer. I've heard that there are lots - thousands? - of free True Type Fonts you can save to your computer.

A PP mentiond "designs" and I'm not really sure what those are. Shapes?

If you go to this page
http://pumpkincartcrafts.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12&products_id=36

they have a short video you can watch.

HTH!

A very popular site for files is Mardenz's site. You download the files and use the Import, Break Apart and Group functions in SCAL2 to cut those paper piecings. She has a TON of Disney files.

If you are computer savvy, you can use a freeware program called Inkscape to create your own paper piecing patterns from coloring pages, clipart, etc.

With the newest version of SCAL, you don't even need to use Inkscape. You can trace images directly in the program (even, ah, um, copyrighted ones).

You don't need a CD. You could download the program (from work) onto a flash drive that you then use to install it onto the laptop :)

That's what I needed to know. You will soooo have to walk me through that one.

The BF deal is for the CD version.

"You are purchasing the CD version of Sure Cuts A Lot 2. Your activation code will be printed inside the CD case. You will not receive your activation code via email."

I just went to the website to make sure I could motivate to the right spot on Friday and it already says sold out????

Well that stinks!! It was on my Friday list......

It isn't Black Friday yet - it is still a week away!

Perhaps they could use better language (like the sale HASN'T STARTED YET) instead of "sold out" but I suppose that the link will be valid when the date rolls around...
