SB Freakin Out!!!! Need opinions please

Ok so here is the story....I have a close friend who went to JoAnn etc and bought this awesome alphabet punch set. You get the first 13 in one case and the other 13 in another case.Very nice set, they are in their own plastic case with a handle....really cool. She bought them with her 50% off coupon....what a deal. So here is the problem, I borrowed them....and the D broke....so I took it back cuz I didnt want to return them to her with a broken letter. The girl let me exchange just the D, came home punched one D and bammmmmmmmm it broke again. What the heck! Does anyone have this set? If so, do you have problems with any of the letters? And do you know the manufacturer? I would like to write to them with a complaint.....ugh!!!

So what should I do, return it again? Or tell her and let her decide? I am so aggravated right now I could spit!

Gosh. When I started reading your post, I was thinking I should go to JoAnn's and check the set out. Now, I don't think I'm interested.

I don't know anything about them. You could contact the manufacturer. Sounds like it could be a problem with the way they are made?

That sucks! I would return it one more time and let your friend know of the problems she has been having-perhaps you guys could email the manufacturer of the punches. Hope it all works out!

Like Grover, I would return it again and would also encourage your friend to let the company know. There may have been a problem with that particular lot of D's.
Sometimes, during manufacturing, when there is a problem with the machine, the last group of items made have undetectable defects in them. This happened to me with a tray that I had purchased. It kept cracking across the middle. When I notified the manufacturer, they said they had had a problem that had been corrected. They sent me a nice letter thanking me and sent me an entire set to match my tray.

Is it the one where the letters are little square cartridges and you put them in the handle to punch. We sell this at the store I work and have already had two people bring back the handles because they have broken.

I would take the D back to the store and get a new one, then explain to your friend what happened.

This set is in two clear plastic cases.....first 13 and then the second 13...They are individual punches and you dont need a handle. I did tell my friend who then returned the third D, she asked the girl at JoAnn etc. to punch with the new one she was going to give her.....guess what it broke too! So we have contacted the company who claims this is the first they have heard of this problem. They assured her a new punch will be sent. So keep your fingers crossed all goes well.

Return it and *this* time don't use it before you give it to your friend! Then ask her to punch your D for you herself.

It really sucks to borrow something (or be using something) when it breaks, especially if it's obviously not your fault.
