Hello everyone! I just thought I'd make my first post a greeting to everyone on the boards. I've been lurking for a few days now and I must say, everyone here seems so friendly and helpful (just like most of the CM are).

The DW and I are planning a trip down to the world 8/31-9/8. It's our 10th anniversary/honeymoon we never got and boy are we psyched. Right now we're only in the planning stages but will be making our reservations by mid Feb.

I've been there five times before, but the last time was way back in '92. My DW has never been there before so this should be exciting for both of us. About the only thing we know for sure is that we are doing a split trip and staying at the CR and AKL.

I was wondering though, is there any option at the World for a couple that wants to do a vow renewal, but doesn't want any of the stuff that goes along with the usual packages? No decorations, no cake, no champagne, no party, nothing. Quite literally, all we'd want is a place to do it, 20 minutes of time to do it in and some one to officiate. $3000+ seems like an incredibly steep price just for that. Any thoughts, hints or tips?

Great to be here!

No hints on the wedding...but welcome to the Dis!

:welcome: to the boards! I am sure someone will be able to help answer your questions - the people here are very friendly and extremely helpful! Sorry I can't be of help to you re: wedding info! Have fun... this is a very addictive but great place to be!

Hi and Welcome to the Dis!! I agree with the previous poster - this place is very addictive!

Just wanted to :welcome: you to the DISboards! And someone will definitely be able to answer your questions - especially if you post your questions over at the Weddings Forum. Glad to have you here!

Welcome to the DIS, you're going to have a great time. :cheer2:

I wondered the same thing about the vow renewal, because my husband and I were celebrating our 5th Anniversary when we were at WDW in December, but in all the research I did, there isn't anything except the $3000 package. I definitely suggest you go to the Wedding Forum, something new is always coming along.

My husband and I got the Mickey and Minnie Anniversary button on our first day at WDW and we got several surprises. We were given His and Her cupcakes at Chef Mickey's at breakfast one morning, almost everyone we passed congratulated us, we were given two wine flutes at CRT and that is the only way they can be obtained, and we participated in a kissing contest at WCC, with another couple that was celebrating their anniversary,i HAD A 6" cake sent to our table after dinner as a surprise for my husband (he was speechless, and he is never speechless), and one afternoon when we got back to our room, a card had been left from WDW reservations office. I almost forgot, Mickey and Minnie called us at the store in the Castle one morning to wish us a Happy Anniversary.

Hope you have as much fun as we did :yay:

Welcome to the DIS!!!:disrocks:

We have also looked into the vow renewal, but Disney only offers that $3000 smaller package. However, I do remember reading some off site companies that can do what you are looking for. I'm not sure if they are allowed on Disney property. I'd do a search or post this question over on the Disney weddings boards.
