Her contract was not renewed. I haven't ever seen why, if it was her choice or Disney's. I do think the writing on the wall came when she was no longer allowed to give the candy away.

I think it was said that she had to stop giving the candy away because she couldn't wear gloves and didn't have a commercially licensed kitchen.

There were also some stories that it was prohibited because of numbers of irate parents complaining that their children were not picked to receive candy.

I can believe that one...I quit going to watch her because people were so obnoxious about getting picked or not picked.

I mentioned this on other threads, but in short, she quit because Disney would not let her give out the candy anymore. Parents complained too much that their children did not receive candy, so Disney took it away from everyone. (same reason some schools don't let the kids dress up for Halloween, give Valentines Day cards, etc etc etc..). It's a shame, because Miyuki was the BEST. We will always love her and miss her soooooo much!!!

Parent need to start teaching their kids that sometimes we don't get what we want. Sometimes we don't win. It's okay to lose. Maybe if those values were taught, then Miyuki would still be making little paws and exclaiming "Hello!"

This is so sad! We saw her for the first time last year and loved her. Her talent is amazing! She will be missed. Too bad there is not away to send her a message of thanks from all of us who enjoyed her and her shows so much.

Just curious for those who were upset about not getting one of the sweet treats she created, weren't you able to purchase them in the Japanese gift shop. I thought I saw them there.
