I just looked at the weather forcast for the next 10 days and it shows THUNDER STORMS for each day. Not the regular 20 or 30% chance but just THUNDER STORMS. Is that true ??? Am I gonna get rained out of my vacation? We leave out on next Thursday. Please tell me that they just for got to put 10% chance. If you are out there please advise of the weather.

We just got back from our trip (7/7-7/17). Every day the forecast called for a 40 or 50% chance of thunderstorms. We had a storm upon arrival and it drizzled for about 4 hours. Didn't see any more rain until 4 days later, which lasted for about an hour and a half and didn't see anymore rain or storms.

Every day in the summer you have a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It may be raining in the MK but not at MGM. The storms are often very localized.

florida in summer expect t-stroms everyday usally late afternoon. We take ponchos and keep going last june rained about an hour four of seven days .

We were in WDW from 6/26-7/3 of this year and the weather forecast was "chance of thunder storms" each day. We had rain each day but 1, every other day it rained in the afternoon, not too long we just put on our ponchos and kept on going.
There were 2 days when we had a pretty good storm, on our e-ngiht day it rained hard and there was thunder and lightening, we were in MK and were talking to my son who was still at the POFQ and it was not raining there. It rained hard enough to slow us down, we took shelter in the Tiki birds and then the Hall of presidents, by then it was time for our PS at the Plaza so we ran over there. But it had stopped raining while we ate. Our last day the 3rd of July it rained in the late afternoon, from around 4 until we left, again some times it rained really hard and thunder and lightening. We left Epcot around 7:00 and it was still raining lightly. But except for when it was pouring it really did not slow
us down. One night we were afraid that they would have to cancel Fantasmic, but the storm cleared up and everything went on as planned. I think Spectro had to be cancelled one night, but it ran each night so it did not affect our plans at all.
Just make sure to have a poncho each day and you will be fine.

"rain" in Central Fla. doesn't mean "it will rain all day" like it does in some parts of the country. Go and don't be afraid to get a little wet. Sometimes the rain helps keep the crowd levels down.:earsboy:

the rain is also great for cooling off!! And it usually doesn't last too long.

We just got back (July 10th thru 18th). Every day the forecast was 50 and 60 percent chance of thunderstorms. It rained 1 day at MGM for about 1 hour. We just put on our ponchos and kept touring. It rained and lightened at EPCOT for about 5 minutes and rained at Animal Kingdom for about 20 minutes. The only time it effected any rides was at the AK. The rides were shut down due to wind for the 20 minutes.

It's rained pretty heavy here in Orlando for the last 3 days. It's actually a welcome break from those horribly hot days with the sun beating down.

Plan on a brief rain storm every afternoon, then you will not be disappointed if it happens a few of your days.

Florida storms are funny - an hour before they hit you would bet money that it isn't going to rain that day. You usally get about 15 minutes or so warning before the rain hits though. We saw a bad storm coming once so we hustled around the lagoon and made it to the American exibit just before the rain started. It was already clearning up as we exited the attraction.

If you don't mind the rain, you can use it to your advantage. A brief storm cuts the standby line to many attactions in half. Don't let it slow you down though, since most of the cues are covered anyway.

There is so much to do inside at WDW that the rain only effects you when going from place to place. Dont let it dampen you days. Remember, a rainy day at WDW beats a sunny day at work::yes::

It is quite normal for an afternoon storm almost every day in August. They come and go quickly.

My best advice to you is stay in the park, duck into a show or a place to get a snack and wait it out. The storms drive away the crowds and when it's over you may be able to just walk right onto things. :)

We will be there this coming Monday for a weeks stay. I am hoping, but not counting on it, that the rain will stay away or at least be brief.

Last summer, same week end of July/beginning of Aug., was a very wet week. Somedays it didn't rain until late at night, other days it started at 4:00 in the afternoon and kept raining. We never did get to see the electric parade - cancelled lots of nights. We still had a great vacation! With 2 little ones in strollers it is harder to get around in the rain.

Crossing fingers for great weather.:D
