I know this is very upsetting, but there may be no more $500 telescoping back scratchers with led illuminated handles soon.

Skymall has declared bankruptcy!

I seriously don't know how they made it past their first year anyway - I have never bought anything from skymall and don't know anyone who has either. Their stuff is expensive and mostly novelty items.... or bragging rights type of stuff like the $1700 charcoal grill that floats.

:thumbsup2 Yep, I agree! Dh & I also were wondering the same thing!!

I loved the catalog but I never bought anything either.

The magazine entertained us on flights, but yeah we never bought.

I actually have purchased something from them. In the late 90s I was on a flight and read about the most amazing thing I'd ever imagined: A hand held vacuum with a 6 foot telescoping handle that sucked up bugs and trapped them in a sealed container.

I called when I landed and $50 later it was mine. It was one of the best purchases I ever made.

Until a few months later when I needed to change the trap and realized I had a big bag of dead bugs in my closet.

:) I always wanted that white (I think it was white) floating lounge thing....you could keep it in the water, near your Mediterranean Villa and swim up to it for drinks...it didn't support a landing pad for my copter, so I gave it up.

But it's a bag of dessicated bugs so it's a lot less gross than the gooey ones you've just squished.

My wife finds me novelty christmas gifts from the catalog.

I think of it like Brookstone or the old Sharper Image. Overpriced but you'll find items to solve "first world problems" in there.

I bought a friend of mine the instant-read thermometer grilling tools.

Flown > 1M miles and never bought a thing! Although I just about pulled the trigger on that yard Big Foot statue and a Brutus Buckeye tree face once!

For Christmas a few years back, my brother bought a wand that controlled your TV for me as a gift. It resembled a Harry Potter wand (I'm a ginormous HP geek!) and it could change the channels, turn the volume up and down, and power on the TV all with different motions. It was one of the coolest things I have ever received. However, that was the 1 and only time we've ever bought from them.

I've bought a couple of unique, and fairly reasonably priced, items. The more expensive items are fun to look at.

I bought a water dish for my cats that filters and recirculates the water, it bubbles up like a little fountain. I've had it at least 10 years. My cats love it. I think it is also available through Hammacher Schlemmer. I don't remember what the other thing was that I purchased, it was inexpensive, though.

correct me if i am wrong but sodastream was in there at somepoint and went i want that, but would never paid full price for it, well years later I broke down and bought one, but onyl paid $30 for the dam thing, now its just a dust collector

Uhh............hoooo.............I waited to long to buy the slippers with the headlights in the toes!

AKK

Of course, everyone needs a life-sized Bigfoot sculpture for their garden. LOL

There goes my in-flight entertainment.

I know one person who purchased something from sky mall:lmao: she is the biggest impulse buyer I have ever met.:stir:

I'm a very nervous flyer. Distracting myself by reading Sky Mall helped me handle many a takeoff and
landing without freaking out. I'll miss it if it goes away.
