Say good bye to a great disney site

I tried to log on to wdw4adults today Rita Aeros site and it has been shut down effective today, I don't understand all the reasons why but something about cybercrime against the members. This is really sad, this was the first disney site I found many years ago. Lets remember to keep everything friendly around here so we don't loose the privlege of having a great place to share out disney dreams with.

I dont know if this is the controversy that shut down those boards but I know that there was big controversy over something called "the breakfast club" on that site.
Apparently, a group of people got together and formed "the breakfast club". They would make priority seatings for Cinderellas breakfast for others that needed them. I saw alot of negative posts over this controversy and it was especially ugly over on the rec. arts. disney parks newsgroup. There were so many posts about Rita Aero's site and this breakfast club, mostly all negative.People had even gone so far as to call one of the members of this group at his job! I can believe that there might have been threats.

I have heard that it was the Howie's Angels controversy that led up to all of this. No matter how anyone felt about it, I can't believe that people actually made threats!

I never heard of the Breakfast club. But can someone tell me what's so negative about it? Frankly, if travel agents is willing to wake up everyday at 7am and call for Cindy's for me, I wouldn't mind.

Threatening / blackmailing is a whole different story. And it's particularly bad if the webmaster is not acknowledging it.

I woud like to know though, as a webmaster or the site owner, what kind of power do you have over situaiton like this? E.g. if a member posts 'bad' stuff, webmaster kicks this member out, and s/he comes back as a new user, and continously post bad stuff, how responsible is the webmaster? What is preventing a site from shutting down, if the webmaster already shows enough incentive in preventing it from happening?

I just wanted to say thank you Barb for the kind words. I have been a member at The Disneynation Readers Clubhouse for over 4 years, and have been a board host/moderator there for the last year or so. I am sad beyond words tonight at what has happened to a wonderful site and a wonderful person, Ms. Rita Aero. I also visit here a lot even though I rarely post. Tonight I was feeling totally lost, not being able to visit my online family. I decided to visit here, where at least I could be among my fellow disney lovers. Reading your post and those of the others who responded has made me smile through my tears. Thanks to you all.
