I am sending you very good thoughts that he lands this job!

My husband was unemployed a few years ago and I totally get the need to get them out. Yes, we love them. Yes, they need to go and do something! :lmao: (Although, I LOVED having someone cleaning while I was gone all day!)

I've heard some really good news lately from people on the job market. I hope you get your blessing!

Well, he called. They had 130 applicants. They asked him if he would be willing to sign an agreement to pay back the training they give him if he doesn't stay 12 months. The training is valued at $6000. Only two other places in the country offer it.

They told him to think it over the weekend and get back with them on Monday. My husband is a suspicious sort, and thought they had some sort of angle but I told him that it's pretty standard that if a company invests that much in training you, they don't want to lose their investment.

I told him not too wait, to call back immeadiately, but he didn't want to seem to eager, so he will call on Monday. I thought that was an error, but , sometimes there's just no talking to him

I have to agree with your husband on this one. Something doesn't sound quite right about this. What if he is fired, is he required to pay back the $6,000? (There are lots of ways to get fired even if your husband is a very good employee) Did you look this company up on the Better Business Bureau? I understand that your family is really hurting for income just please really check it out. It would stink to take a job to help your financial situation that only puts you into a more desperate situation.

Neither I nor my husband have ever been offered jobs where we would have to reimburse our ex-employer for training if things didn't work out. That's just part of why they really need to take care in selecting an appropriate employee. GOOD LUCK!!

Depending on what type of training it is, but my agency, a state agency, requires we pay back certain things if we don't stay 2 years. They get tired of paying dues and fees and then the employee leave. I think it is becoming more common. Good luck!

I second what the PP said. My husband just accepted a new job in February and if he leaves in the first year, he has to pay back $3500 for the 18 weeks of training he just completed.

This company is #1 in the nation. They are the largest company, in the nation, maybe world, for what they do. I have no doubt the company is legit.
We got caught up in something because of him, now it is difficult to get him to trust. Once burned and all that.
My DH is just acting like a fool right now. Believe me, he will be calling on Monsay!:lmao:

with my company, if they pay for certain kinds of training, you have to sign an agreement that you will stay for 2 years after the training is complete. I hope he heard good news today. :goodvibes

waiting to see what happened

He called and left a message telling them that he was still very interested. He got an email a little bit later that they were finalizing things and they would have a definite answer by Wednesday at the latest.

This is killing me!

okay then...hang in there if this is meant to be it will be...don't forget to tell us no matter what.....everytime another person gets a job it's like a life line of hope for the rest of us :thumbsup2
