Saw this on another site - Airlines offering 'practice' visits

While we don't need to use this service i want to say TOTALLY AWESOME IDEA!! Our youngest suffers from severe anxiety and even riding the school bus was torture the 1st week, i can't imagine if we had to fly before she was ten!!

Great idea! The school my DD attended has approximately 179 students who will be coming and going on "travel days." With about 100 of those students who would be flying. They practice "travel days" a lot, but to actually walk through the airport would be great! My DD is better at going through Security than I am.

I had read about that program and contacted the airline we flew with (in Canada) to ask if they offer any program like that here. The airline didn't know of any such program but contacted their main person at our airport and she arranged it for DS (he's 3.5 with autism). So they arranged a private tour for DS and because of that, he was totally calm while we went through everything at the airport-you'd have thought he was a seasoned flying veteran. I made sure to contact the airline to send my appreciation and to the woman who arranged and hosted his "practice" to let them both know how much it was appreciated.
