Saw the Fort From 10,000 Feet

I was returning home from a business trip this morning and changed planes in Orlando. Upon taking off, we flew over downtown Orlando heading NW, when I caught a glimpse of Spaceship Earth out the left window. Picturing the layout of WDW on a map, I found the Contemporary, then Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake....then lo and behold I could make out the beach at the Fort just behind Discovery Island! If only I could have beamed myself down to that beach. For those of you currently at the Fort...I have two things to say. 1. I'm envious. 2. Why didn't you wave??

I have to say you're probably the only person on this forum that can say you saw it from 10,000 feet, you're in an exclusive club...lol

Next time we'll be sure to lay out some pine cones in a "Hello" on the beach...lol

I've seen WDW from the air many times. I wasn't specifically looking for the Fort at that time, but I have seen WDW. For some reason, it is very common for the little commuter jets that we fly on from HSV to take a Southern takeoff and loop around.
