Saw Something Disgusting at Epcot This Week...

Well, I finally snapped. Since I spend so much time on Disney property, I see all kinds of things that I think are just wrong. I'm basically a non-confrontational person, but I just couldn't walk past this.

I was at DTD today. I was walking past Once Upon A Toy when I noticed a little boy chasing a little lizard. He was trying to stomp on it. The boy appeared to be about 4 or 5. He'd already pulled off the tip of the lizards tail. I stopped and said "Please don't do that. You'll hurt it.". He just continued to go for it. So, I said "No. Don't do that. It's alive and it has feelings just like you do.". The boy just stared at me. As soon as I started to walk on, he put his foot on top of the lizard. I went back and said "I told you No. Don't do that."

At that point, many people were looking at us. I probably looked pretty stupid as I tried to get the lizard who was by now very traumatized to move over to a protected area. Another family walked over and asked me what it was. I told them it was a little lizard. The boy was still there. I said "Don't step on it". The other family told me they wouldn't do such a thing. I explained that the little was trying to kill it. The lizard finally went into a protected area and I moved on. I never saw a parent for the little boy.

I was surprised that the kid's parent didn't come over to find out why I was yelling at their kid. DD suggested that perhaps the child did not speak English. He did look Hispanic. I told her that No is No in both languages and that he understood what I was trying to tell him just by my actions.

I will let a lot of things go, but torturing an innocent creature is not one of them! :guilty:

it seems some of you people would make great security people for disney world should apply for that job life is too short to worry about the kind of things your worry about maybe its just cause i am younger i don't know but parents don't have control of kids anymore and if i wanna use a companion restroom cause of a line in the mens room better then peein in public think about that and you will see better in the companion room then in public

We give you credit there is no excuse to hurt anything unless it is going to hurt you.

I do not like those things still I would never hurt them.

The parents are not raising the kid right he has no valves. What a shame and you are right NO is No in any lanuage.

Yea for you.

Again parents are at fault and again I ask where is security?  party: party: party: party: party:

I also don't understand people. I've always been one of those people who tries to look at the best of every situation, but lately I'm finding it harder and harder to do.

Yesterday, DD and I were at AK. I was standing in line at the restaurant in AK waiting to order. There was a group of teenage boys in the line next to mine. When the guy ahead of me gave his order, the boys pushed over from their line to mine ahead of me. The CM working the cash register just looked at me, but did nothing. I said, "Excuse me, I believe I was in this line before you". The boys just shook their heads like they didn't understand me. They were speaking Spanish to each other. So, I decided not to make an issue of it. When they were done ordering, I ordered.

When the CM handed me back my change, she dropped a quarter. As I bent down to pick it up, one of the boys grabbed it and put it in his pocket. I said "That's my quarter". He laughed at me and turned his back. Again, the CM did nothing. A guy standing in the next line was watching the entire thing. He just shook his head and smiled at me. I know he was thinking the same thing that I was. What a bunch of little punks!

I really don't know if these kids could speak English or not. Maybe they couldn't, but they knew very well what they were doing. The look the kid gave me when he pocketed my quarter was just daring me to make something of it. If I hadn't had DD waiting for me, I'd have gone to security.

I hate to make waves. I really do, but I'm getting real tired of people taking advantage of me. It seems to be happening more and more. Usually, it is somewhere on Disney property. It makes me so sad that the CMs can witness this type of thing, but seem afraid to do anything about it. Well, I've had it. The next person who takes advantage of me at WDW will feel the rath of Peggy! I just hope I don't get banned from WDW. :goodvibes

I am normally a very leve headed person, but if I witnessed that happen to you, the kid would have been handing you back your money and saying excuse me if he cut. I love kids (teens included) but have zero tolerance for rude children.
