Tides of Change?
Rumors of change have been rolling up upon the shore of Pleasure Island. Rumors are now indicating that the Raglan Road replacement of the former Jazz Club may only be the first in a more major renovation of the nightlife hot spot. It is rumored that both the Rock n Roll Beach Club and the West End Stage are currently being considered to be removed and replaced with multiple new venues. It is also rumored that the current mini-bar near the Comedy Club would be removed to make way for a new (smaller) stage to compensate for the West End Stage removal. There are currently no rumors as to what new venues may be added, but it is rumored that new designs replacing these current venues are currently being considered.
Be Cool: In Innoventions?
As construction on the new Club Cool progresses at Epcot, more rumors are emerging on how the area will be tied into Innoventions. Some current rumors hold that Club Cool will be just another exhibit of Innoventions and will not be considered a separate attraction like Ice Station Cool was, additionally these same rumors are pointing to there being no outside entrance to Club Cool; only an entrance from Innoventions. Other rumors, however; contrarily state that while Club Cool will be more integrated into Innoventions it will not be just another exhibit. These rumors hold that there will be both an outside and Innoventions entrances to the new area.
Contemporary A Changing
More details are emerging on the rumored major overhaul of the entire Contemporary resort. According to resort Cast Members the next stage of the rehab following the current South Wing and Tower room renovations will be the construction of Disney Vacation Club units and a number of Dining changes.
Rumors now hold that the North Garden wind and the south portion of the Tennis Center will be the future site of a new five story complex to house Disney Vacation Club villas and studios. The Tennis Center is rumored to still exist post this addition, but only in a smaller form.
It is still rumored that The Concourse Steakhouse and the Food & Fun Center will trade places. It is now further being rumored that as a result of this change the steakhouse will receive a new name and a new theme, like wise the Food & Fun Center will receive new nomenclature and themeing, which at this point is believed to tie into the near by Chef Mickey. Along with these changes it is rumored that the entire Grand Concourse level will be receiving a major refurbishment although Mary Bair murals are rumored to be preserved.
Other changes are now rumored for the lower levels of the hotel as well. The current Contemporary Grounds coffee shop is rumored to be replaced by a new Childrens area. It is rumored that a new coffee shop will be placed near the entrance to the convention center. The lobby is also rumored to receive some major changes, it is rumored that the lobby will be completely redesigned to give the area a similar feel to the newly renovated rooms.
Rehab-Roundup
The water park rehab season is almost here, and while it is only officially known that Blizzard Beach goes down for refurbishment October 23, 2005 ; further dates are starting to be rumored. It is currently rumored that Blizzard Beach will be re-opening early mid December 2005. Typhoon Lagoon is rumored to be receiving its annual rehab from earlymid December 2005 till late February-early March 2006.
El Update y El Buffet
It is now reported that El Pirata y El Perico Restaurantes Dinner Buffet was actually instituted as overflow for table service restaurants during the Disney Dining Plan and not a test to gauge demand for this type of venue. Still, it is being rumored amongst Dining Cast Members that park management is still open to continuing this venue if proven popular by the end of the current operation period. Specifically it is rumored amongst the Dining Cast working the buffet and the venue management that the Hero meal tested last Mothers Day is currently being considered to be given a new home at a permanent El Pirata y El Perico Restaurantes Dinner Buffet.
