Savings???

Hi All! I want to start saving some money in a separate savings account.

Which do you guys thinks are the best savings?

My husband and I have our 401K with our jobs. Plus we have 6 months of living expenses in a savings account connected to our checking accts.

I don't want the money tied up anywhere (CD, Money Market). Just a place for it to go directly from our paychecks with the highest APR. Any ideas??? I've heard of online savings accounts?? Haven't really looked into those.

Our credit union has a savings account but it's basically the same interest rates as our bank.

Most credit unions have money market accounts that do not tie up your money.

Usually online accounts (ally, ING, etc.) pay the highest rates for straight savings accts. because they don't have the cost of physical buildings and whatnot. Though no savings accounts are paying rates over a percent/percent and a half or so afaik at the moment.
