I have cable and internet service through Comcast. I was paying some ridiculous amount for the two over $150. So, I called today to see what I could do to lower my bill. I mentioned that I wanted to add home phone service (tried being cell only failed) and that AT&T had sent me a very nice offer. Well, apparently Comcast is running a special for current customers. You can get home phone (unlimited nationwide calling), cable and internet for $129 with no 6 or 12 month limit. Its called the Xfinity Triple Play. So, Im adding a home phone with free long-distance and my bill is actually going to go down! Yeah, me!
If you are a Comcast customer and you are paying more than this, just call and ask about "bundling" deals for current customers. If you are not a Comcast customer, the triple play is $99 for 12 months.

It will still end up costing me $170 ish when you add in the taxes, fees, 3 cable boxes, DVR. You have to be careful about all the extras, but it definitely pays to call.
We called Comcast and basically all they could tell us was "Well, you've been with us for a year so your introductory pricing expired. The only thing we can do is add a phone line for only $14 more a month!"
I, being a big time couponer, am not very happy at all with that answer. $180 a month for cable and internet with NO DVR or anything--that's ridiculous! Our apartment is wooded though and only allows Comcast or AT&T for TV/Internet, so we don't have much choice!
