We are on a budget and need to plan our trip to Disney. We are looking for an Automatic debit plan over 48 months . say 100 per month. We plan a trip for two kids and optimising the ages as one trip only is most likely. Does anyone know of such a travel plan.

Sears travel often has payment plans. Like pay in twelve monthly installments. Can be done without interest if you pay for in advance. I've heard of other travel companies too, but can't remember who.

I also budget for every trip we take to Disney. I opened up a premium rate savings account at the bank. Kept it off my debit card so I can't access it unless I go into the bank. It costs money to take any money out of the account so I will only withdraw once. Once a month I go into the bank and transfer the money over to the savings account, other than that I forget it exists. I prefer to do it this way that way I maintain maximum flexibility when it comes to actually planning the trip. We get tickets from Ticketmania, airfare using Southwest, sometimes we stay onsight, sometimes not. Anyway I'm not locked in to a pre-packed plan, it ends up costing us less. Hope this helps.

We put away 40.00 from each pay we get paid 2 times a month each so we sock away 160.00 into our US account a month it really adds up quicly that is how we save for our Disney trips every year.

I wouldn't pre-pay to a travel agency, or Disney for that matter. Why give a company money when you don't have to? Think about opening up an ING account. You'll get a better interest rate, and the money is harder to get at. ;)

My kids are 6 and 9 and have been to WDW 8 and 10 times respectively. Each age has a different "specialness" about it, although I'd have to say that their ages now are pretty awesome because they're big enough to go on most things, yet young enough to still enjoy the magic of the characters.

Good luck with your savings plan!

I'm not sure if this still exsists but it would be worth the phone call. ING had a travel account that you could open and they would pay you to open it. $25 or $50 I think. I know it's not much but every penny counts.

Other than that I would go to the bank and tell them what you are doing and they can open an account for you with automatic payments. This way you can earn a few pennies in interest and save for your trip. I've done it for other things and it turned out great.
