Saving expiring Visa rewards dollars

Hello, I have 400$ on my disney visa rewards redemption card which expires end of this year.

Probably not going to disney this year or next.

Can I transfer this money to a disney parks gift card. I don't want a disney store gift card.

How do I do this? Can't find any online info.

Order 2 $200 Disney GCs online at the Disney Store and pay using your rewards redemption card. You do not want Disney Store GCs or online GCs. You want the kind that you can use in the parks, which are simply known as Disney Gift Cards. You will also have to enter a credit or debit card number but it will not be charged. It can take a little while for the order to be processed, so don't wait until the last minute to place your order.

Yup, buy Disney gift cards from the Disney store. They never expire so it won't matter when you get to use them.

Just so you know when you buy using a gift card, it does a little test ping to your card for $1. This will reduce your available amount. Then when they charge the full amount it will show insufficient funds. This happened to me. I tried to apply a visa gift card to a Disney cruise and it wouldn't work. So I decided to buy a Disney gift card. It took a while to get the transaction to process but I first had to talk with GS and have them straighten it all out on their end.

It doesn't work the same way when you're using a Disney Rewards Card on a Disney website. The full amount is available to be applied to the cost of your purchase. Making purchases with a Visa GC is a different case, but I've never had a problem using the full amount that is on the card.

Thanks, that's good to know. I found the Visa GC a PITA to use online at all. The next time I wanted a Disney GC with a Visa GC, I went to our local grocery store and bought one in person.
