:cool1: Doing the happy saved-with-AAA dance!!!! :cool1:

We just saved $26.76 (tax incl.) a night at POFQ with AAA! I'm so excited! No, it doesn't beat the $105 rate pref/king I got last year though an e-mail code... :wizard: I think I used up all the pixie dust I ever had coming with that code!...but it does allow our entire family to go and stay and play!!!!! And it more than paid for our AAA membership and we still saved a ton!

Good for you! I know - we saved a ton with AAA this past trip! Have a WONDERFUL time!

Congratulations!!! We're going with a terrific AAA agent here on the boards for our next trip. I just love saving money!!!

Where are y'all finding these deals? My father is trying to book our rooms via his AAA and can't find anything.

Disney gives an AAA discount on room only reservations, if you book yourself or use a travel agent. They give an AAA discount on packages if you book through an AAA agent. :)

Should I get my father to call AAA or is there a website he can do this through? My family and my parents are going to WDW next November and he's trying to go ahead and get the rooms reserved.

Thanks!

He can call Disney himself if he's looking for "room only" reservations, and buying the tickets separately. They will give him the AAA discount.

If he wants to book a package that includes tickets (and dining, if he wants it), he'll have to call an AAA agent.

You can also book a room only on the AAA website, but as stated previously the packages must be booked directly with AAA.

Amanda- I know a very good AAA agent if you are interested- PM me and I'll give you her number.

Raammartin, Kristin above is an AAA agent. Use her, you won't be sorry. She's the one that got the great deal for the folks above and she got me one too!! PM her. I have her e-mail somewhere and if you need it I'll be glad to look it up!!~

I would be interested in the email address or name of the travel agent for AAA. I am in Evansville, Indiana...and I am unsure who to call....

Thanks,

dave :cool1:

Thanks to you all for guiding me through the AAA process. My Dad wanted to try it via WDW reservations so that's what we did. We saved enough per night to make it cheaper than if we'd been staying during the value season. Yippee!

dlbbwu, the agent I used was Kim Basnett. She is the second post on this page. Her e-mail is kbasnett@merrimack-valley.aaa.com You don't have to use the agent from your area. Most people use an AAA agent that knows about Disney and Kim does. I had a trip planned through Disney Reservations and just ask Kim to give me a quote and she saved me over $600 on 3 rooms at POFQ for 7 people. I also had the dining plan. I was shocked and from now on will always use her as my travel agent. She has been supper!!

So if I live in South Carolina - and plan to get a AAA card (let ours lapse but need to get a new one) - can I just use any ole AAA agent? Or do I need to go thru the AAA of South Carolina or whatever it's called...

And is there any advantage to using a AAA agent vs calling Disney myself? I am looking at room-only - and then purchasing tix from Ticket Mania w/ MS link.

Can I book with either if I don't have a current AAA card? I don't want to renew before I need to - LOL

Thanks!

The above agent could answer all those questions for you and probably will is you e-mail her. She may even just pop up here to answer since she has subscribed to this thread. To be fair there are several agents that are on this board or that people have posted about that are good with Disney trips. This will be my frist AAA trip and yes, I did join just to get the discount!! It was well worth it too!! I live in Ks and right where I am I have no AAA agent and I joined from a promotion I received in the mail. Kim is from Ma but she still did my trip so that part doesn't matter. I would think you would want your membership as close to where you live as possible. Like now, I received a free Atlas coupon from AAA but I have to go to my nearest office to pick it up. Mine is 250 miles away. Yes, I live in the boonies!! LOL! :rotfl:

Yes, you can use any AAA TA that you like. They dont need to be in your general area! I say use the AAA TA's because you get a better deal...especially if you would like to have the dining and tickets. Yes, you save on the room only, but you do get the AAA benefits (Planet Hollywood vouchers, storytelling experience, up front parking, discount card). PLUS January is Disney month at AAA and you get a special bonus if you book a dining package or higher through AAA. I think if you try (dont quote me) to do the room only over the phone, they ask you for your aaa number. I am not positive on that though.

Thanks Kristin!! I knew you were still out there and would help us out!!!! You are going to love MNSSHP!! It is my favorite time of the year to go to D.W. and Universal Studios!! I can't take those grandbabies out of school to go then though!! They grew up on me too soon!!! :guilty:

I joined AAA just for the discount....I paid 74.00 to join and just saved 200.00 on our accomodations at AKL (28.50/night). So, an initial net savings of 125.00, plus there are all kinds of little extras that we are supposed to receive since I just booked today (during AAA's Disney month). I'm so excited!!! :) I just hope everything goes as planned!! :) I am using a local TA that seems to be experienced with Disney. She's been very patient with me and has answered ALLLLL of my gazillions of questions during the past 10 days of my planning. :)

So, I recommend at least looking into your possible savings. If you're going to save more than 74.00, then I HIGHLY recommend joining AAA just for the discount!!
