Saved $ Buying Camera Online

Just wanted to share my experience...

I was in the market for a new digital camera, so I did all my research online and found the Kodak Z740.

I needed it by Tuesday, October 10 (for MNSSHP) so having it mailed wasn't really an option since that is only a few days away.

So anyways, I checked all the websites (Circuit City, CompUSA, Best Buy) to find the lowest price. Best Buy had it listed online as $297. I called the store to make sure they had it in stock before I drove up there. They did, but the store it was selling for $350!

Well, that wasn't going to happen.... so I purchased it online for $297 and marked it for in store pick up. I got an e-mail an hour later telling me it was ready.

Off I went. I just brought my order number, photo ID, and CC that I purchased it with. In and out in a few minutes with $50 saved! Whoo-hoo!

It always feels good to get a deal!

I bought my digital camera on ebay from a camera shop in upstate NY. For slightly more than all the local stores, I got the camera, a set of rechargeable batteries with charger, a mini tripod, a leather case and an extra memory card.

Several years ago, I bought our video camera online and saved $300 over the local chain electronics stores!

I hardly ever buy anything anymore without searching online first. We've saved thousands over the years.

I always review electronic purchases via the web. Dh likes to visit them so we research online then go look at it in the store. I ordered from a website and saved over $125 from reg stores.

Our portable dvd player was a major purch- dh wanted a 12 inch- so we researched them and took a chance by buying a slightly used one thru Ebay- but it was a seller that had many 1000 of recommendations- all original packaging. Just the remote had a small dent. We got it for about $300shipped- it was selling new for over $800- plus tax! That was 2 years ago and it's great!

I just wanted to say that I bought the z740 in July for our trip to Italy. I LOVE this camera. I got it with the EasyShare dock, rechargeable battery, case, lens kit and a 512 MB memory card for $445 plus shipping at BuyDig.com. It's probably more than you were looking for but I really wanted the rechargeable battery and the extra memory. The camera by itself was going for $265 or so. The great thing was..NO TAX! Like, disneysteve, I don't buy anything anymore without first researching my prices on the internet.
