I got a new car last year and it came with XM radio. Well of course we got hooked and it was time to renew. So I got a bill and it was $86 for 6 months.:scared1: I called and told them that it wasnt in the budget and I supposed I was going to have to cancel. Lo and behold, the girl tells me I am "eligible for a promotional price" and got 6 months for $25.

I saved $61 in a 5 minute phone call. Now how many people would just go ahead and pay the $86 cause they wanted it.

If you have XM radio, CALL and be ready to cancel. They will seem to always find you a better deal and save you some cash!

Every year at renewal I call and tell them I am cancelling because of the cost. They always come down to a price that I'm comfortable with and tell them I want online listening included. They always come through.

wow! Dh has XM radio that I wish he would cancel. XM has the WORST customer service ever! I have had to call them many times, to change package, didn't receive a bill, cancel on my car. And they were the worst. I have never dealt with such POOr customer service.

I would like to call and pretend to cancel but I'm afraid I really would which would leave dh without sports radio on his commute to work

Do you know which "package"(ie # of channels) this is for? I got something for 5 months for $20...

TIA

I received an e-mail because my credit card number didn't go through for a renewal. (I had the 5 month for $19.00). My dd lost my card (-it was in her sweat pants pocket) and when I went to cancel that card and found my card the next day.

Anyways, I went online and picked out a different package for $75 for the year. I get my credit card statement and they charged me the $164 for six months. When I called he told me that was for the whole year. I told him I signed up for $75 for the year. I didn't get anywhere, so I am calling and cancelling, except they have my $164 and I'm afraid I'll never see a credit.

Thanks for the tip!

BTW, what do you all listen to on XM? I can't find anything worthy of a subscription and our free trial is ending soon.

My Sirius trial ends next week. I was a paying customer in my old car, but I am not renewing right now because I am pretty sure they will offer me something good once they see that I didn't jump to renew. Of course the few weeks I have to probably wait, will drive me nuts!!

I love my XM!!!!
I let my free trial expire and found that I HATE my local stations.
I read where everyone was getting such a killer deal so I have it for 6 months for $24!

Just called and reinstated my husband for $77 a year plus fees & tax which came out to $86. I was happy with that! Should have asked for the 6 month promotion, that is a better deal. I'll see what happens in a year.:cool1:

After we got our minivan they were advertising a special that was a set price for a lifetime membership, so DBF called and bought it for me. :) I have Sirius and don't have to pay a dime for it! Keep your ears open for that type of promo everyone, it's great not having to pay for Sirius radio!

It took me about 4 or 5 calls to Sirius last fall, to get a decent rate for the year. The last guy was finally willing to cut us a deal. I'm thinking it was in the $90 range as well.

In my quest to get a decent rate - some of the "earlier" Cust serv reps I talked to were trying to convince my that I "could pay quarterly for $40 per quarter" DUH - that is $160 per year - they must think I am stupid or something...I can do the math...:rotfl:

Longwinded...but if you don't get the answer you need the first (or second or third times) keep trying!!!
