Saved $165 on park hoppers- you can save money too! Post 43- called GAT, confirmed!

On the way south for our first big DLR trip, we got a Costco package. They send you a packet with everything...tickets, paper you need to claim your hotel room, etc.

Just as we got on the highway, DS broke something on the DVD player, so we stopped at the mall to pick up a part, as he was only 3 and we were driving from WA and we felt it was necessary. Got back on the road, drove a few miles...I was missing something...the packet. Went back, I RAN through the mall, sprinted into radio shack, and it was sitting there on the counter in between employee and a customer...I grabbed it up, looked through it, and left. I'd brought it into the mall because our car doesn't have an alarm, and I thought it would be safer with me!

don't let that happen to you!

Oh gosh, my heart stopped when I was reading this. Woooooow :scared1:

Just got off the phone with GAT:

1. No blackout dates.
2. The pricing will stay the same for the rest this year and tickets need to be used by the end of this year.
3. Prices will increase for tickets needed Jan 1, 2012.

Nice ~ so what's the price for adult PHs - I got mine my from LMT for $180 each *early summer* and picked up DD's at Smith's for $165 - are GAT prices lower??

Ours were $183 for adults and $162 for kids so exactly the same. I was just excited because the call in price varied so much from the online price and thought others could benefit if they are going this year and hadn't bought their hoppers.

Yup! It looks like they're selling the rest of their old stock. If you're going before the end of the year, I would jump on this right away. I'm guessing that they don't have a ton of them available at this price anymore.

I called GetAwayToday versus ordering online and my price dropped from $1038 to $873. Their number is 1-800-523-6116. :cool1:

Woot woot! Love a good savings.

This is great news! :cool1: We were trying to find a way to make a trip in December and this might help.:thumbsup2

Does anyone know how this works if I wanted to upgrade one (or more) of the tickets to an Annual Pass once at the parks? I've done that before with PH's purchased directly through Disney, but never with tickets purchased through a TA. Does it work the same? Do they credit me for the amount I paid or for what the ticket is "worth"?

OH shoot, I bought my tickets from GAT a few weeks ago by calling in but paid $206 for our adult 5 day park hoppers and $181 for the child rate!!

Is there any way to cancel these and repurchase at the better rate?

I'd be calling for sure! I can't imagine why they wouldn't have given you this price. Are you traveling to Disneyland this year or in 2012?

It's worth whatever price is on the ticket. People gift tickets or buy them for less and they are still upgradable KWIM? Also it doesn't matter who/where you buy them from as long as they are valid and you upgrade on or before the last day you use them. :thumbsup2

I'd put money on them helping you. They're super nice

That's what I just paid by calling now ($206 and $181). I assumed the OP was possibly quoting a price that didn't include tax? But maybe we didn't get as good a deal? Either way, it was still a significant savings over what we'd seen elsewhere.
