Save Tickets from Package for Later?

Ok so, my DD and DH are huge Star Wars fans. We just got APs, because that's how my luck goes, and literally 2 days later this Awaken the Summer promotion comes out. My understanding is you have to buy a minimum of two day tickets to get the special BB8 bands that make special sounds and lights at touch points.

So, my question is, if I switch from the AP rate for our room to the Awaken Summer rate and add a two day ticket, can I save those to use for a future trip and then use our APs, or will I be forced to use up the two day ticket on the trip this summer?

you can save the tickets (been there done that with APs and free dining). DO remember to remove them from your MDE account ( inactivate them or something) so the 2 day tickets aren't used 'accidentally' by the system. You really want it to just see your AP when you are entering the parks

Add on a new Profile/family member named TicketSaver and reassign/move the 2-day tickets there as soon as your package becomes active. Leave the tickets there until you need to use them.

Just as a warning though, because I just went through this last week. My tickets were saved and stayed on my MDE account, but I couldn't apply it to an AP renewal over the phone, you have to be at Guest Services. So that means if I leave it as is and I need to book FP+ for my next trip, but my current AP will be expired and I only have 2 days on my previous package tix, I can only book 2 days of FP+. I either just book the 2 days of FP+ and when I get to WDW, I renew my tix with the 2 days tix applied to it, get FP for the remainder of the days or i have to just renew my tix w/out the 2 days value and be able to book the full 10 days of my trip and carry over the 2 days to another time. A little confusing, but I was stuck... with the 2 days left on the acct since i really wanted the 60 days to book FP.

I don't think we're going to do it, it would add about $1000 to our cost and even though most of that is ticket cost it's hard to justify it for some magic bands. Still good information to have though, thanks for the info everyone!

Warning of things to come....the latest price increase with the tiering included this little tidbit...

Un-used 1-day Magic Your Way Tickets expire on December 31 of the year after they are purchased. So if you buy a 1-day ticket in 2016, it will expire Decmber 31, 2017

I would not be surprised if this policy eventually hits multi-day tickets too.
