FYI - I just got this email from Joe regarding the Save the Dates that they send out:

We have just been informed that we are no longer able to include the booklet that has been used with our Save the Date announcements the past couple of years. We ARE still able to use the important papers that are printed with your date, locations, resorts, reservation forms.

If you would like us to use the papers without the book, then we can do so as soon as possible once all of the contract information has been processed and we have your guest list.

If you would rather wait until the second half of October, we will have an entirely new Save the Date style. I will have some PDF images of it next week if you want to decide then.

I have decided to wait to see what the new one looks like - In either case I have my own...lol

Oooh! I can't wait to see the new ones - thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

Oh cool!!! I hope the new ones are just as nice :)

This is horrible! :scared1: I am desperate to get the info out to my guests and can't wait till the middle of October!

Does anyone think they'll be lacking the info they need without the books?

Oh that is cool! I can't wait to see the new ones as I am not fond of the old ones. I am doing my own but I was going to add parts of the old one to my mine so now I will have to wait and see.

i had a meeting with Heidi last week, she told me that they would contain the same information. the only thing that was changing was the style the new ones will look more like formal invitations instead of a marketing brochure. HTH :confused3

No - as Camera381 mentioned, the part they're missing is just a marketing brochure about all the fun things people can do at WDW. Your guests will still get all the REAL info they need - room blocks, tickets, etc. :thumbsup2

That's good, but I was still hoping for some propaganda to get them in the Disney mood! :rotfl:

Uh, I hear you on the propaganda! I have a few Disney hater's that I want converted!

We signed our Save the Date's to go out when we were at our PS on the 14th. I haven't been contacted that they haven't set the old booklets out or to wait for the new ones in Oct.:confused3

You can always had your own propaganda too! That way you can cater it to what you think your specific guests will like.

I am excited about the new STD's! I really liked the first ones so I know it can only get better!

Quick question...When did everyone send out their invitations? I was think 6-8 weeks before. It's not like it will be a total surprise that our wedding is approaching but do want a bit of reminder and a "look-forward-to"

That's true. I just think I'll miss out on the DFTW ones since I can't wait till Oct, and I'm sure they won't "re-send" for me. Maybe I'll be able to talk them into giving me a copy! :)

oh I would love to see what the new save the dates look like....Everyone who got mine thought those were the official invitations...lol. I had to explain that official invites were coming later...

If the new ones look more formal and more official, then maybe future brides don't even have to do formal invites....mm....what will the industry ever do? lol...

Well i guess our Save the Dates went out just under the wire. And even though it is a mareketing brochure, I does put your guests in a Disney mood. But I would love to see what the new ones look like.
