Save my tulips

I should call the gardener at one of the local historic homes that has thousands of tulips. They're more in an urban area, so maybe they don't have the critters like we do.

So much for the marigold solution. The critters are eating them too. Or at least stepping on them and breaking them.

Sigh!

:headache:

If it's skunks marigolds planted nearby keep them out. If it's something else I'm not sure. My dad had marigolds for years planted all the way around his entire garden and next to the tulips and never had anything dug up.

He occasionally got an opossum on the fence trying to sneak in but no diggers.

EDIT wow I'm surprised they didn't work. :( It might be deer then or something that isn't bothered by them.

My husband keeps saying it isn't deer because there are no hoof prints.

Went out yesterday morning and found about 20 bulbs on top of the ground. Some chewed. All visible tulips destroyed.

I can't win.

Sheila

P.S. Wonder if wild turkeys would do this? We're overrun with them and chased a couple out of the vegetable garden yesterday.
