So I'm prepping for my next Disney album, this is the big 14 day trip in Dec 2005. We took over 3000 photos, it would have been more but our camera broke on day 3 and spent most of that day cabbing it to Ritz Camera. I've edited, double up smaller pics onto a single 4x6, and even combine multiple themes on 2 page spreads (something I never do) and I still have 915 photos and 132 pages!!!!!!!!

I must be insane!

I'm with you on this though...we don't even have kids yet I still end up taking hundreds of pictures every trip. I better have an everlasting battery for that camera when we do have kids!

You're definitely not insane for taking all those pictures, but you may go insane while scrapping them all! haha Don't worry, we're all with you!

On my last trip to WDW, I had a chance to visit a park by myself. I went when my Mom started her shift. I went to the Polynesian for breakfast, and then Animal Kingdom. I had zebra domes over at AKL, and then met my parents at the MK for MSEP and fireworks. I had a great day. And took over 800 pictures on just that day. So I will be absolutely no help.

It was great trip Caroline, it was the last one before DD was born and it's the trip where the boys got to have a private meet and greet with Mary and Bert. Definitively an extremely memorable trip!!! Just keep reminding me of that when I'm eyeball deep in scrap pages!!!!

Buffy, I ALWAYS take way to many photos too....it the nature of the beast! think of all the wonderful memories you'll have in your albums for the kids to look back on! our WDW trip in 08 has 4 albums! this last trip, not sure yet, but will be at least that, but probably 5 or 6! going to do something different for our Oct trip, just not sure yet....know I'm going to do a fall color scheme - thanks to Rachal for that idea!!!

I am right there with you! Our May trip was the first with the new Nikon, our first DSLR. We took a little over 6000 in a week! (DH especially got camera happy at the character meet n greets, some of them are like a flip book...literally! ) I am really going to have to spend a lot of time sifting through photos and narrowing things down.

We've managed to get 2 albums for each trip but I tend to over stuff my books much to my CMC's dismay. LOL
I am getting better at not printing all of my pics but I did do that with our first ever trip to WDW because I wasn't sure at the time if it was a once in a lifetime trip. Obviously it wasn't since we went back 3 times the next year!

Which Nikon did you get? We have the D40, D70, D70s, and the D90. The D70 is the one that broke while on this trip. I just had a point and shoot (thankfully!!) We replaced the 70 with the D70s while we were in FL but shipped the 70 out for repair when we got home (keep that warranty handy!!)

I love the D40 because it's small and easy for me to carry. I also keep a fixed lens on it and use that 90% of the time. I'll switch to the 70 with the longer adjustable lens when I do sports.

The problem I've found is that as we get more accustom to the camera we are taking better quality pics but we still shoot the same amount as before, so it's really hard to choose "the best" because they are all equally good!!

Speaking as a CMC (and longtime customer ) I know that it is okay to put 50 pages (100 sides) in each album. The album might be heavy, but, there is plenty of room to tighten the strap and the spine cover stays on Really you're only at 3 albums I always end up with at least 100 pages for my Disney albums and the longest we're gone is 8 days! So I'm no help. Scrap away and have fun

This is why I prescrap my Disney trips then I have to pick the pics that fit the pages instead of trying to scrap them all (which is what I would do)
I'm working on 5 albums for my next trip (they are the 3 ring binders)

If you've got lots of similar photos but can't bear to lose any rolleyes1 like I never can) how about doing multiple albums - one "family" and one each boy. Then when you run out of rooms for albums in the future their wives can look after the "individual" ones for you

Buffy, I really feel for you. I have to scrap my 2009 12 day disney trip. I have to gear up for it because like you we have way too many pictures. Good luck with your scrapping!

My CMC looked at my 2010 album and said "Cassey you need another album!" It had about 90 pages in it and I had not even begun to scrap the Epcot pics or the different resorts that we visited. I was very excited as I could now print more pics! I know I am no help but just think of how much the kids will appreciate those albums later! Have fun scrapping!

I took nearly 4000 on our cruise last October/November. I've gotten better with my camera so a lot more are "good shots" that I can't bear to not print!
