Savannah View Questions at AKL?

We are going to book a Savannah view room at AKL-A few questions:

1.) Has anyone been disappointed with Savannah view? If so, why?

2.) What Savannah view/trail is the best?

3.) Can I get a room with a bunk bed connected with a room with two queens? That's what I had at Wilderness Lodge?

We had savanna view "uszima savanna". We were at the very end of a short hall off the Zebra trail. So if you look at a map we were in 4400's and if looking right saw the pool, left to wide open uzima and down to spa and more of uzima. IT WAS AWESOME ! Giraffes lived there the entire trip. We saw other animals wandering, flamingos to the right. What we loved is that we sat on our balcony and if we didn't look over to the right where the pool was - all we saw were animals and trees. NO other part of the resort, no building in site. I liked that. Made it seem more in the natural.

Enjoyed all the observing we did of the arusha savanna from along the halls, porches and arusha rock.

We did go and observe part of the Sunset savanna off the lobby from the Sunset overlook. Did not like that area at all and would have asked to be moved had we gotten. Lots of birds, ostrich, vultures, seemed to have alot of fencing and very aware of the "road" and each time observed vehicles moving about. Was too "fake" to me. JMO - of course.

1. The first time at AKL I was in a room on Kudu trail about as far from the lobby as you could possibly get. Wasn't at all happy with the room. I suppose if I had booked a standard or pool view and had been upgraded to this room I would have been happy - but since I paid for a savannah room I was disappointed in my view.

2. I prefer the Arusha savannah; however, seems as though there are fans of the other savannahs too. I've only ever been on savannah. I don't think the trail (zebra or kudu) really makes a difference.

3. Yes there are a certain amount of bunk bed rooms.

We had room #4381 (don't know which savannah it overlooked) and it was great. We saw plenty of animals (mostly giraffes and zebras) every time we looked out. I would definitely stay in a savannah room again.

We had a room with one queen and a set of bunkbeds and it was connected to my parents' room, which had two queens.

Does anyone know where I can see a map of AKL? All the links on the FAQ don't work. I booked two Savannah view rooms-exactly what the previous poster just said...A room with a bunk bed connecting with two queens. I requested Arusha Savannah/Zebra Trail, low floor. We'll see.
