Currently for our window there’s a difference of $110 per night between Savannah view and standard view. Is that a normal difference? Or is there a way to get it cheaper?
It depends on when you are going. Check sunrise/sunset times. We once booked a savanna room and hardly saw any animals at all. It was dark when we left in the morning and dark when we returned at night. This was when the parks opened earlier though.

We always book standard and request partial view... There are animals everywhere. The savanna view is not worth the extra money for us. We see animals from our balcony with standard view and if not, a simple walk out to the savanna suffices for us.

We had a standard room with what the CM called an obstructed view. It was not obstructed at all. There was a small corral in front of our room that separated us from the animals a tiny bit. Each night the giraffes would sleep outside of our room. It was a great room. We requested a king sized bed. I would go for a standard room and ask for an obstructed view.
We had a standard view with partial savanna view and although we could see a few animals I would book savanna view next time. The partial view is not guaranteed with standard view and we had to request a room switch to get the partial. For us the only draw to staying at AKL is the animals. Yes you can see them elsewhere in the resort but depending upon how much down time you have you might not get to see as many as you would like. I think for $110 a night is a worthwhile upgrade.
