Saturday Spotlight is aimed at helping you get a little bit extra from your trips to Orlando. The tips mentioned here may already be known to you, but perhaps you can contribute a tip of your own which others might not know.

We’re not trying to rewrite the guide books and web pages dedicated to the nuts and bolts information, but hope we can add a little bit of our own icing on the cake.

Check out the Saturday Spotlight 'sticky' thread at the top of the board where we're collecting all the tips from each week's threads covering the different topics.

Here are this week's starter tips for Disney’s Value Resorts, so please join in and add your own favourite(s)!

There are FOUR Value Resorts. All Star Movies, All Star Sports, All Star Music and the newest Pop Century.

• There are giant icons at all four of the resorts, such as Dalmations, Football field, Buzz Lightyear, Rubiks cubes and Bowling pins to take some great pictures with.

• You can get pizza delivered to your room.

• Value season rates starts at $77.

• Each resort has a wonderful food court where you can purchase refillable mugs.

• All Star resorts do not provide towels at the pool, you must take them from your room

• At Pop Century the table soccer players are more than 12 feet tall, and the "toy" ball is more than two-and-one-half feet in diameter.

Here is a link to All Star Movies , All Star Music , All Star Sports and Pop Century Information.

Don’t forget to join us in Chat on Sunday at 7pm we can share more information on Disney Value Resorts then.

the movies has a nice place to eat outside in the shape of a movie real keeps you away from the noise inside many a pizza eat and beer downed there also as the allstars is clased as one resort you can poolhop from each one and still yuse your mugs in each (still dosent stop them filling up 7/11 mugs)

We stayed at All Star Movies for two weeks in December 2004 and loved it. The price we paid made this excellent value for money but to still be part of the onsite experience. Rather than post a lot of random thoughts, here's an excerpt from my Trip report.

If anyone has any specific questions, fire away :)

Overall impressions of All Star Movies

We loved it! Yes the rooms are quite small but we found them absolutely ample for the four of us and all our luggage (we had a lot!). The room was extremely clean and nicely themed. The furnishings are bold and brash and don’t feel deluxe in any way, but that is exactly what I had expected. The grounds were beautifully kept and the large Disney icons were a huge hit with the children as well as us! There are lots of little touches all round the resort that act as a constant reminder that you are on Disney property.

We thought the reception area was great; there was a lovely big TV screen showing Disney movies and this kept the girls entertained on several occasions (including one when we had to post a parcel and it took over an hour for the CM to work out how to do it!). The shop was every Disney fan’s merchandising dream with a great selection of toys, games, clothes, plushes and all the other bits and pieces you expect in a Disney shop. There were lots of sweets, cookies and crisps and the like and they also sold small bottles of spirits behind the counter. We were very happy with the cocktails served at the pool bar! The food court had a pretty good selection and was a reasonably pleasant dining experience – far superior to a similar set up in the UK but obviously it is cafeteria style. We thought the prices were reasonable – not as cheap as going offsite but you could easily feed a family of four for one meal for $25 or so. The refillable mugs saved us an absolute fortune! The girls gave the arcade a big thumbs up. We thought the pools were great - unfortunately we didn't get the chance to enjoy them much due to the weather!

We found the bus service excellent. The longest we waited was twenty minutes – unluckily for us that was on a cold and windy night! But apart from that time, I think we waited for under ten minutes for every other journey. I wish our local bus service - which allegedly follows a timetable but often fails to show up - was as good! It felt like a luxury to not have to drive and it is ideal when you consider how close to the parks you get dropped off and picked up. We did have to stand a few times, but it’s not like it is ever a long journey!

Overall, and bearing in mind the price we paid to stay here, the resort was even better than our expectations had been. Massive thumbs up.

I've stayed at All Star Sports twice. Although not very "Disney" the theming was very American (baseball bats, American Football etc) and I loved it. We'd walk across the car park to eat at the differnt food courts (same food - different surroundings).
I also bought a few things at the souvenir shops - these did have a few resort specific items.
The shop also had a small selection of snacks and drinks - cheaper than the food court.
However I believe that being in a different county the sales tax is 1% higher at the All Star Resorts than elsewhere at Disney.

The musical notes sprinkled across the main lobby at the All-Star Music resort are When you wish upon a star :)
