Saturday Flight Expectations

We are contemplating doing the same thing as you. Any speculations On what the roads might be like on Saturday driving into Orlando?
Blocked with down tree's or stuff in the roads. Don't bank on having electric so all intersections will be 4 ways. Restaurants won't have power so take food & water with you the grocery stores are empty of items. And hopefully were ever you are staying has not been damaged.

WESH Tv just announced it will be a direct hit. They expect the eye of the storm to come inland.

My Saturday flight from MEM to MCO was cancelled by Southwest. Considering the circumstances, we're cancelling our Disney trip. Too much uncertainty going on to try and drive.

(Edit) Were going to drive now and arrive on Sunday. First time driving, and not looking forward to it, but going to give it a go.

Wanted to give an update on my sister's friend.
Her flight was cancelled!
She was flying Southwest Airlines Saturday at about noon and would have landed at MCO at about 2:30pm.

Our Saturday afternoon flight on SWA was also just cancelled. We were supposed to get into MCO at 3:40. We have no wiggle room to rebook, so had to cancel our trip.

We decided to rebook our flight, now arriving in Tampa on Monday. Two days less in Disney, but at least we are still able to go. Such a tough decision! Good luck to everyone and stay safe!

Haven't received a call from SW as of yet....but we are due to fly out Saturday night and arrive at 8:30pm. I was hoping that all would be up and running. Not sure what to do as we have several F&W events booked, MNSSHP & Keys to the Kingdom.

Got an email from SWA at 4 pm today that they cancelled our flight from Indy to Orlando Saturday morning. Best they could do was a late Monday flight. NOT happy about missing two and a half days of vacation :(.

Yeah I was super lucky to get my mom and DD on that early Monday flight....took the last 2 seats but that was around noon today!

Might want to rebook. Remember there were be a lot of power outages and wind damage. No way to pump gas or get food from restaraunts since they more than likely wont have power or supplies. Or go but take a suitcase full of food with you. Grocery stores are bare and suppliers won't be able to replenish right away. Plus there is no to know if the airport will be open. Remember the folks who run MCO live in the hurricanes path. MCO has already said they will no open if they don't have the resources to run the airport.

Someone on the general hurricane thread just posted they called SW and their flight for Sunday has NOT been cancelled....so that might not have been accurate information!

Just checked and my flight to MCO arriving 8:30pm
Saturday has not been cancelled.
Earlier flights are showing cancelled but our nonstop and later flights BWI to MCO are showing "on timel" status
