Saturday Crowds in Epcot???

How are the crowds in Epcot's Future World later in the afternoon on Saturdays? Friends are heading there after a 2 o'clock arrival the Saturday BEFORE Thanksgiving?

With one son in a wheelchair, they are concerned that crowds might have increased there due to the new Space ride. They are hoping to catch a fast pass to TestTrack and maybe Mission Space.

What have all you recent visitors experienced in Epcot, crowd-wise?

Epcot isn't a bad choice for most Saturdays because it is so big and spread out. That doesn't mean that there couldn't be long waits for some attractions (Test Track, Mission Space).

With one son in a wheel chair, won't they be let in through a special entrance? I know that people who can't make it through the lines (example: people in wheel chairs) at DL are sent in a special enterance and don't have to wait in line. I would assume the same courtesy is given to handicapped people in WDW.

I would post this on the Disabilities board for more specific info. about wheelchairs. I agree that of all the parks, Epcot absorbs large crowds the best.

Most of the rides at WDW are mainstreamed rides, which means a person in a wheelchair will stay in the line along with everyone else. Sometimes the person with the wheelchair will get pulled out to board at the ride exit (especially the older rides in Fantasyland), but there is often no reduction in waiting time as there are limits on the number of people with disabilities who can be on the ride at any one time.

Also, there is usually only one ride vehicle that is accessible and the wait for that single vehicle can take forever, especially if there are a number of people in wheelchairs also waiting for that single vehicle. I am usually watching the people who were in line with me ride and exit before I get onto the ride(smile), but because I was either pulled out of line or entered through the exit (depending on the ride), most people assume that I went to the head of the line.

During very slow seasons and depending on the CM, sometimes if there is no other person needing the wheelchair accessible ride vehicle, I may be asked if I want to stay on for two ride cycles. People that have been there during the busy times report that this does not happen then.
