We are traveling down from Wisconsin and plan to stop for the day just north of Atlanta. What is the latest we could go thru Atlanta on a Saturday morning without terrible traffic?

Not sure which Saturday you are referring to, but this radio station has the best trafffic info both online and on 750 AM.

You could probably push it as late as 10am unless there is some sort of special event going on................and we have them from time to time.

Once you are south of Atlanta, the drive is pretty easy and will take you about 7 hours (plus/minus) to get to WDW.

Holiday periods can be a whole different story.

Remember, you can listen to the radio and take 285 around Atlanta if 75/85 is messed up.

Thank you. We are not going until June. We usually drive straight to Florida and hit Atlanta during the night. We are trying something different this year. Leaving very early on Friday to avoid Chicago traffic but that would put us in Atlanta about friday rush hour. We will spend the night north of Atlanta and have not problem leaving by 10 AM. I will check out the website you suggested. Thanks again.

We used to live in the North Atlanta suburbs and drove to WDW alot. We would take 285 E to 675 S and then pick up 75 S. That takes you around the perimeter of Atlanta. May be a bit longer than going through downtown (85/75 - known as the connector). Either way, I would expect that you won't have any problem on a Saturday morning.

You will have no problems driving through town on a Sat morning. They just finished a big construction project so there are now like 8 lanes in each direction through downtown.

My one piece of advice for Atlanta traffic... HOV LANE!!!

And if you need a good place to stay, there are a lot of great choices at the Barrett Pkwy exit off I-75 in Kennesaw. Major mall area, lots of places to eat, sleep, and shop!

Have a safe trip!
