Saturday at Magic Kingdom

I planned on going to MK on Saturday because it is open until 10pm but I'm starting to rethink that. Does it get really crowed on Saturday? Are all the parks crowded on the weekend? Is it best to plan MK for a week day?

Go as soon as the rope drops. Hit big attraction a grab those fast passes. Just after lunch,leave. Rest, take a swim, read, goto outlet malls, whatever. Then hit it again about 5:30. Staking out remaining fast pases.

It's best to go on a weekday if you can. Our first MK day will be a Tuesday, but that is also our very first day of our vacation and we have to go to MK on our first day! We would do the same if it were a Saturday. I want to experience the MK when it is open late also so we will be going on Saturday no matter the crowds . However we are going to do AK first that day, then break and go to MK after a bit of a rest somewhere.

No matter how many times I say I'll never do MK on a Sat. again, I always wind up there. Esp. if Sat is the first day of the trip.
We always have another day (or 2 or 3) in MK during the trip, so I've stopped worrying about how many attractions we get in - it's more for the atmosphere now.

Saturday's are busy. You have local's like me who make one day trips over. Try to go on a weekday if possible.

Thank You for everyones input. I think I'll rearrange my plans a bit. Maybe I'll do AK on Saturday and wait til Monday to do MK. But we could always go to MK after we do AK.

TYPICALLY, Wednesdays are the slowest day for MK in all seasons. Don't know why, but several Guide Books / Tour Guides have confirmed this.

I agree with hitting it EARLY, doing the real bottle-neck rides & shows, then GET OUT for a few hours. Don't waste time trying to do a character breakfast, or even eating at all -- just hit the 'big ones' and then go on to another park. Returning to MK later is good, but don't expect there to be much room to move, not on a Saturday evening. The desire to see the SPETRO parade ALWAYS causes Saturday night crowds to be almost impossible.

Most people going to AK are tired and done by 2pm or so, thus getting there by 1 or 1:30 should provide less crowds. But remember, AK closes at 5pm most of (or all of) the time, so allow time to see the things you want.
