Here is my dilema, and I need advice...We arrive by auto-train in orlando on November 25th. We have made it to parks by 10am in the past, but this year I have planned a suprise stay at AK Lodge just for Saturday night because we go on our cruise Sunday. Do we spend the day at AK and to do Everest, which we have never done, or do we just lounge around the resort, do downtown Disney and eat at Boma's around 8???

I'm going to move you over to Theme Park Strategies, you might get more answers over there.

I would probably go to AK and ride Everest. There is some stuff to do at the resort but since AK usually closes early, I would do the resort things after the park closes.

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving in 2005, AK was open until 8:00pm (not EMH, just regular hours were until 8:00). This was pre-EE, so I don't know how it would be now, but that year, hardly anyone was there after dark.

Sure, go to AK! Maybe you will finish it early and be able to still go to DD.

You spend the day at Animal Kingdom so you can ride the rides and see the attractions. Of course, you have to ride Expedition Everest. They also have showings of Finding Nemo the Musical which hasn't officially opened yet. We were just there for a week for my Birthday Nov. 4th - Nov. 11th. We had an awesome. I have never been there for my Birthday. It was truly a magical time filled with a lot of pixie dust. We hadn't been on Expedition Everest either. Based on the standby wait time, we get Fast Passes. We go back to use our Fast Passes. We were in line maybe 5 minutes at the most. As it turns out, by a huge coincidence My Husband & I were able to ride in the first car in the roller coaster. We didn't ask. It just worked out that way. All I'll say is...Wow! If you get the opportunity, you have to ride in the first or second row. I won't give it away. Once you have ridden in that position, you'll know why I said you have to do it. There are a lot of other things to ride, see & do at the Animal Kingdom. There is Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Birds of Wonder Show and Festival of the Lion King to start with. We've made it a tradition to see Festival of the Lion King every time we go to Animal Kingdoml. It is truly a wonderful show. :wizard:
